Kuroshitsuji Theories: Sascha and Sieglinde
This theory I’ve been working on for the past few months has hit headcanon mode; so, I decided to write a blurb about it.
We were introduced to Sieglinde Sullivan back in the Green Witch Arc. Another character who was introduced was Sascha. Neither of these characters met or have met, to our knowledge. I point this out because there are things going on behind the scenes that Toboso-sensei does not show us. Like many of the activities of the secondary or tertiary characters. The plot surrounds Ciel and Sebastian. There isn’t enough time for everyone.
Sieglinde is a brilliant scientist: a child prodigy. She can do everything from create mustard gas, perform medical procedures, to engineering her own pair of robotic spider legs. She only wants to help people and desires to make friends and attempt to live a normal life. She also cut her hair after her ordeal in Germany (hair changes can be a metaphor for being a rebel, especially in Victorian England.) Now which past character does she sound like the most?
That’s right. Madam Red. Sieglinde Sullivan is like a young Angelina Durless in both academic interest and physical appearance.
Sascha, on the other hand, reminds me of Grell. Though not much in physical appearance. During his narration on the activities between British and German powers, Sascha remarks that he loves being a reaper - a quote he states while looking over a desperate amount of bodies leftover from Sebastian’s battle. His statement even befuddles his partner, Rutger. I wonder why Toboso-sensei would introduce these new characters if we were only going to see them once? Especially reapers. They have a tendency of sticking around in the story for a purpose. So what purpose does Sascha have?
With Sieglinde’s abilities, it is entirely possible that she could attract the attentions of a bored reaper like Sascha. Or perhaps they already have. I can completely see the two of them becoming friends and playing around with her experiments and research. While the friendship may not be entirely as destructive as the Jack the Ripper duo, Sascha would probably tempt Sieglinde into using the mustard gas or other invention for entertainment purposes. But, she might not go for it. It’s my headcanon that she could be a human who stands up to a reaper and tells them off for wanting to make things more (violently) interesting. Maybe she could change Sascha’s perspective on asking a friend to do something harmful to others and finding enjoyment in death.
At the moment, the queen is interested in her ability to create the mustard gas, though she [Quey V] replies that she won’t force her to make it for her. Knowing Queen Victoria, she has definitely not given up this dream to acquire such a weapon for an arsenal. My guess is that she is going to arrest Sieglinde on some false charge of witchcraft or something of the like, to legally get her hands on the formula.
From this point, Sascha could ask Sieglinde to do the unthinkable: kill herself to become a reaper and be with him. Seeing as how Sascha looks very young, I think that he is probably ignorant of what asking someone to do that could really mean/ what being a reaper truly entails. I think Sascha probably hasn’t been a reaper for a long time, considering how excited he is about his prospects.
Going back to the comparison between the Germans and the Brits; if Grell ever met Sieglinde, I feel she would be a visceral reminder of Madam Red. And if he knew about an intention to make her a reaper, he would intervene. Because I think deep down, Grell knows that being a reaper is somewhat of a “curse.” (Hello, purgatory). If Grell didn’t want Madam Red to become a reaper, I think that he would advise his kind against doing the same with their human friend. Depending on the situation, Sascha could warn Sieglinde, hide her, or be forced to kill her to protect her.
In the end, I think Sascha would have to either desert the dispatch to protect her, or end up killing her like Grell with Madam Red. They could even take shelter with Undertaker seeing as he hates the Queen. There could be a storyline with that as well.
Sascha and Sieglinde could represent a newer Grell/Madam Red master servant bond
Both posess similar characteristics of MR & Grell
Sascha could end up having a friendship with Sieglinde
Sieglinde could be tempted into using her inventions for ill entertainment/ resist and teach Sascha the value of not being a violent person(?)
Queen Victoria is probably a liar
Sascha might want to turn Sieglinde into a reaper to save her
Grell could save her/ provide alternative suggestions (good ole fashioned murder)
THIS COULD ALL BE SHIT AND I’M JUST TOSSING IT TO THE WIND
Tell me what you think and have you considered any of these possibilities?
