Big strong men with their chubby round wives that are their precious angels but also aren’t afraid to pull their husband’s ear when he acts rude/stupid + them having the chunkiest babies that squeal real loud cuz they’re a big ball of happiness.

“Which is why I’m going to be getting you out.” he whispered. It hurt him to see Oliver in such a state. How in the universe did this even happen? He knew that from time to time, Oliver was one who wandered; as a selkie and others within the kingdom were wont to do. So when he hadn’t heard from him, he thought nothing of it. But then the silence had stretched for far too long. His chest had ached for that familiarity. That friendship they’d since cultivated.
And he certainly wasn’t about to leave without Oliver in tow. “You think I came all this way just to save you from a lobbed rock? Now come– please don’t tell me they have your utmost possession..” Would it be impossible to leave without it? No; but it wasn’t exactly something he could just leave behind if the RingMaster had it. Already, he could tell that the performers were starting to return to their positions–even after that the show had to go on. “I’m not leaving without you.” he whispered, catching sight of Oliver’s ‘employer’ approaching.
~~~~~~~~
Oliver was starting to genuinely panic, the first hints of it reaching the surface. He was starting to sweat, his eyes darting around rapidly at any sign of movement. They only widened as they caught sight of the owner approaching, a look of concern on her soft features.
“Go now,” he hissed, trying to push him away as the woman neared them.
She didn’t look the stereotypical circus owner, short and plump. She looked old enough to be Oliver’s mother, but there was no way that was possible. She didn’t even really dress the part, in a long sweater and slacks. She hurried over the the selkie, gently cupping his face in her hands and directing him to look at her. Despite the gentleness of her touch, he flinched.
“Oh lord, they really did do a number on you!” she said sadly, her brow furrowing as she tilted his head this way and that. Oliver knew her concern was entirely genuine, maybe even unselfish, but it did nothing to sooth his nerves. “I’m so sorry, dear, that’s just absolutely unacceptable - we’ll put better security on your show from now on.”
“That’s really not necessary,” he started, his tone shocking soft, submissive even. He couldn’t look at her, his fingers twitching in his lap.
“No, I insist! I told the boys at the front to keep an eye out for men like that but do they listen to Auntie Claire? No, of course not - and now this! I promise I won’t ever let anything like this happen again, lovey.”
She paused, seeming to finally notice Santiago. She flushed slightly, clearly embarrassed. “Oh god, how rude of me,” she said quickly, hand pressed to her chest. “I’m so sorry, sir, I didn’t even see you there. You must be the man that helped our Oliver. That was so incredibly brave of you, thank you so much.” She paused, unsure if she should offer her hand or not. He couldn’t see her, right? “My name is Claire Ruth, I own this establishment.”
