As the mom of Hueco Mundo, she feels the urge to take you in and protect you as a newer arrancar. She approaches you first, but not in a weird way. She’s just a gentle guiding hand that appears when you need help.
Like maybe if you’re lost, or you don’t know what to do, or if someone is giving you trouble. She was keeping an eye on you in case you’d need her help, and she steps in when you need her.
She’s protective, but not overbearing. She knows who in Hueco Mundo is more likely to cause trouble and will warn you about them, but she won’t stop you from interacting with them at all. You are your own arrancar, after all.
She will, however, give them a mean look if needed. They know better than to mess with her.
Being taken in by Harribel means a lot of time with Tres Bestias. They will roast you a lot because that’s how they show affection, and you’re almost expected to throw it back - or fight them. Either way works.
Harribel on the whole is not a very chatty person, nor is she very openly affectionate. However, she does make a point of praising you when it’s needed, or telling you she’s proud of you. The fact that she says it so sparingly makes it hit harder when she does say it.
Really Harribel does work very hard to make sure you’re both safe and happy, and while she may not be as open with her emotions as others, the things she does will really make you feel that she does care.
