Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017)
Making of: Jab Harry Met Sejal
Recomendation #1 Piana - Raula
Raula is the most peaceful album you can listen today, all the composition in the record kinda represents the good, the light, the best reasons for living and put al this wholesome things constantly taking more place and winning the bad stuff, the dark times that we, rodents and humans are facing today.

TDP rewatch: Moonshadow distance and trust
Highly trained fighters are always aware of the space around them. The closer they let you get, the more comfortable they are with you. They don’t generally enjoy being sneaked up on, because that tends to trigger sharp instincts. And if they’re feeling skittish for some reason, they’ll keep their distance, because more distance equals more options.
When Runaan first appears on the battlements, he’s some distance from Rayla, and instead of approaching her closely, he stops and hops down. He decided the distance for this conversation. He keeps Rayla a solid thirty feet away, and right in front of him, where he can see her.
Contrast that with where he let Rayla walk just an hour or two earlier: very close and directly behind him. Here, he sees her as a child to be protected, not as a threat to his mission. He’s literally letting Rayla walk in his blind spot.
Which is telling in and of itself. We all have blind spots for our loved ones.
Rayla makes the first move. She takes two steps toward him. She’s quiet, respectful, and non-threatening.
“Runaan. You need to call off the mission.”
Runaan doesn’t move, though. He’s not having any of her approach, on any level. She disobeyed him a second time, and with everything he knows is at stake, he needs lots of options here.
“You’ve lost your mind.”
Rayla begins to explain about the egg, how it’s been stolen instead of destroyed, and how the princes found it and want to help. She takes another step toward him. Her gestures entreat him to listen and understand, but she’s still drawing closer to him.
She still trusts him to help her. She’s literally coming to him and asking for his help. oww my heart
Runaan responds to that, but not the way Rayla hoped. He interrupts her explanation when she gets to the part about the human princes.
“No. Humans are liars. This is a trick and a trap. You’re a fool, Rayla.”
Harsh. But as he says it, he steps toward her, twice. He hasn’t given up on her, he’s trying to connect. He’s doing the same kind of entreating hand gestures that she did. They’re both trying to get the other to see where they’re coming from, but neither is willing to move very far from where they began. They’re still closer to where they began than they are to each other.
Callum and Ezran step out to show Runaan the egg--and their willingness to stand with Rayla. He’s shocked by the sight of the egg, and any further approach he might have done stops there. Who knows how far he might have walked toward Rayla if Callum hadn’t spoken until later? Would it have made a difference?
Rayla keeps closing the distance, though. Another step toward Runaan.
“How can we take vengeance for an act that never happened? You have to call it off.”
But Runaan can’t see her perspective. “Rayla, you know it doesn’t work that way. We bound ourselves. There is only one way to release.” Then he launches into his speech about justice not being denied and ends by demanding they give him the egg. He’s standing firm on his viewpoint and refuses to budge any further.
Rayla literally begs him to understand. “Runaan, please. This is a miracle, a chance for peace!” She doesn’t step any closer to him. But she does sidestep so she’s directly in his firing line toward the princes.
Though they only take a total of six steps toward each other, they’re shown coming pretty close to each other compared to how they started. A nice touch, demonstrating that they want to come together and agree. To literally meet in the middle. And that they’re slowly accomplishing it, until Callum speaks.
When Runaan and Rayla actually square off to tight, their distance is both literal and metaphorical. A divide has come between them. Neither trusts the other as they used to.
Runaan feels he has no way out of his mission, and he judges Rayla for not understanding how restricted he feels by his own oath--and for not feeling the same about her own oath.
Rayla feels she must abandon the mission for a quest of much higher importance, and she judges Runaan for not supporting her--and for not feeling the same about the egg as she does.
They parted badly and then each got plenty of time to think about what happened. They still love each other. But I hope their trust can be rebuilt somehow. Rayla’s on the right track. It’s Runaan who will need to put more effort into stepping closer to Rayla--and Callum and Ezran--and humans in general. I really hope he’s up for it.
