Encounter at Raven's Gate (1988)
Hey, Sassy? What's the latest book you have read over your vacation?
Good question Sassy! You see I have read 2 books and got started on a third over my vacation! They were all from different series!
1: Lirael, the sequel to Sabriel (book three is Abhorsen) (Old Kingdom series?). A REALLY good series if I do say so myself (and I do). It has magic, a complicated and completely new yet utterly familiar world with magic on one side and technology on the other! The story follows mostly the magic side, where forces in Life are chosen to battle the ones that use the might of Death to gain power and influence. Warning: This series isn't too bad about it, but it does hint at sex multiple times, has a character naked for a little bit (actually 200 years but that is besides the point), etc., but you all reblogged the "I'm not 11" post so I think you should be fine unless you are triggered by these things. some blood and gore, a lot of death (just enough death for the story but it IS centered around Death).
2: I will talk about in another post (totally an infodump my guys)
3: Evil Star, sequal to Raven’s Gate (it’s always ravens and crows, but let’s save that for another post), (The Power of Five series, next book is Nightrise). Good book, not as good as the others. The beginning of the first book is SUUUPPER slow, so be ready. It too has a great deal of lore and worldbuilding ripe with magic and destiny (I’m sensing a theme here), a kid named Matt is destined from birth to be one of the Five, five kids from all over the world prophesied to keep the Old Ones from rising. Evil Star (so far) follows Matt as he makes his way through Peru, finding another of the Five on the way. They live completely different lives, they don’t even have a language in common, but they’ve seen each other in their dreams since they were born. Matt struggles to find who is the ally and who is the enemy, as there are many parties that want to aid and to stop the Old Ones from rising. As for warnings there are a few bits with guns and blood and stuff, one or two seriously minor character deaths, etc. Your average modern-day action.

What is it with books about birds being so confusing? I just finished the raven boys and wtf. I was so lost after finishing SoC and we don't talk about the fact I still don't know what was going on with Raven's Gate
Top 5 Wednesday: Books With Autumn Vibes?
Israel only has one week of fall really but I tried.
Autumn Term/Antonia Forrest
Reason: It has ‘autumn’ in the title.
Frog and Toad series/Arnold Lobel
Reason: This is the one that reminds me most of fall. The colouring of the illustrations is done in very autumnal colors.
Blueberries for Sal/Robert McCloskey
Reason: I just remembered this one! Everybody here is getting ready for fall/winter.
Raven’s Gate/Anthony Horowitz
Reason: It has spooky vibes in a forest.
I know this is only four, but that’s all I could think of.
