RACE FOR THE WHITEHOUSE trailer online (click on image)
I spent much of last year shooting this CNN original mini-series. Seven weeks in the U.S doing all the documentary work, then two months in Canada shooting the drama for four of the six films (the other two were shot by friend and colleague Rob Goldie). Directors: Chris Spencer, Kim Flitcroft, David Bartlett. SP. David Belton RAW exec Louise Norman. Exec & narration Kevin Spacey.
There should be a drinking game for every time someone in WWE says 'the greatest __ of all time', 'the greatest ____ in the entire world' or 'the greatest ___ in history'.

New Irish Music: Raw TV Live Sessions
Raw TV is run by “two lads from Finglas who have started the channel for local artists to showcase their talent.”
Well you can’t argue with that and based on their first offerings this could be something huge.
Have a listen to Rachel McCormack doing a live acoustic performance recorded at 5th Element Studios and the official video for Boss Level‘s Part Onewhich sounds to me like fairly deadly…

THE NEW COLD WAR - SIBERIAN CUT
My latest show, now in the edit for Raw TV. It's an 8 part doc for the Discovery channel, following a crew of Americans and Russians logging in Siberia's frozen north. It all takes place in Russia's Taiga forest, one of the most inhospitable places on the planet, covering an area the size of North America.
As American, Sean Vann, tries to get a logging business off the ground we get a glimpse of a rarely seen world, great action and classic cold war rivalry between two very different cultures.
Siberian Cut premiers on Discovery Channel in June
INSIDE THE HUNT FOR THE BOSTON BOMBERS
In Jan/Feb I spent almost a month in Phoenix, AZ shooting the narrative drama elements of this international co-production about the Boston Bombings. Given that Boston was under heavy snow at the time, and the film is set in Spring, we opted for the desert - especially given most of our locations were interiors, or else set at night. The only headache was Boylston St (the site of the bombings themselves) but our local producers Randy Murray Productions found a section of downtown Phoenix that matched very well. I had a week of prep & location scouting before being hurled into a very intense two week shoot. Given all the challenges we faced, and a very tight schedule, the filming went very well. The local team were fantastic and director Sam Hobkinson and line producer Ros Davidson did a great job of keeping it all together. RAW TV currently have two edit suites working back-to-back in London to make the deadline. This feature length TV film will be on NGC (U.S) and C4 (U.K) on the 15th April - the anniversary of the bombings. Personally I liked the working title, Five Days In April but I guess it wasn't obvious enough! Excited to see the finished film though; I think it's going to be a strong piece of work. I shot the entire film on a Sony F55 (2K) with Angenieux Optimo compact zooms.
CLIP I SHOT FOR GOLD RUSH ALASKA SEASON 1
Shooting ‘Jungle Gold’ for Discovery Channel in West Africa
My latest job has landed me in West Africa where I’m getting a crash course in making documentaries in a jungle. It’s a challenging place to work in.
The first thing you learn is that it’s impossible to stay dry. If I’m not waist deep in murky swamp water, humidity is up to about 85% so I'm soaked to the skin for most of the day. The weather can switch from scorching sunshine to a torrential downpour in minutes but waterproofs don’t help. After a couple of days I ditched mine – they protect you from the worst of the rain but you sweat so much inside, that you feel like a boil in the bag, microwave meal. My jungle boots, thankfully are made by a British company called Altberg and are designed to let the water drain out as you walk. So my feet are just wet rather than waterlogged which makes a big difference.
The locals insist there aren't crocs and hippos in this part of the river but it's still a little unnerving wading through an estuary with a camera on my head. A 6- foot snake tried to climb into our lead dug out the other day so there's definitely a few interesting creatures knocking around.
Despite the mud, sweat and inquisitive snakes, it's a truly amazing place to be and all the hard work behind the lens should translate to a gritty and exciting new Discovery series. I can’t give away any details yet but it should be a cracker.
