美國海軍研究協會28日表示,海軍部長馬布斯(Ray Mabus)已經簽署命令,美國海軍將首次以同志平權運動人士為軍艦命名。這位開創歷史先例的人物就是美國政壇第一位公開出櫃、但英年早逝的政治人物米爾克(Harvey Milk),被命名的船艦則是一艘運油艦「哈維.米爾克號」(USNS Harvey Milk)。
