‘Who’s dumb enough to think they can stop an asteroid?’ Duh, BUCK!

Just so you know I have always been bewildered by the animated movies because animated movies are the ones crowded with creative ideas and unimaginable artistry.

Similarly, Ice-age: Collision course with endearing visuals is another addition to the Ice-age series. The movie is packed with fun, laughter and plainly lethal jokes, jokes that will kill you for laughing too hard. Like all the other Ice-age movies, this franchise grips its pace with nut-job scrat chasing after his one true love- the biblical acorn! Why the biblical? For the squirrel it seems to be very sacred. Earth being hit by meteors, dinosaurs extinct, solar system crumbled but the acorn still lives. Hence, the biblical nut!

After some peaceful days the life of mammals is again in peril when their home is hit by asteroids from outer space, duh! Manny (Ray Romano) and the gang, all running for their lives come across Buck (Simon Pegg) who was all geared up with a plan to save his friends. Wiser than the lot he was!

On the side-line, peaches (Keke Palmer) was set to marry Julian (Adam DeVine) long before this end of the world shit decided to leave her family and roam about a little with her husband. Manny and Ellie (Queen Latifa) found that to be totally unacceptable as they were afraid they might lose their daughter. Using the end of the world belief for their rustic idea to somehow instill in Peaches’ mind that she cannot survive on her own, the parents tried so hard to scare her but failed.

On the other hand, Seth (John Leguizamo) was desperate for love and began to doubt that he might not be perfect.

Ice age was not one of the best in series as there were scarcely any moments that could startle us! All the fountain of youth crap at the end of the movie made it so tedious which showed the writers couldn’t come with anything logical to fill our minds with. Despite, I love the movie but the writers could have put more substance to give it a better ending.

I loved Buck and Seth, Crash and Eddie the most. Our Star trek hero Simon Pegg voiced Buck I mean hats off to him. He did it stupendously, whereas Seth was voiced by a John Leguizamo. I don’t know how he learnt to talk like Seth but it was gold plated. A man with untamed talent he is! Crash and Eddie- the perfect duet, were backed by Josh Peck and Seann William Scott respectively. Though pain in the ass but equipped with amazing one-liners!  

The graphics, the visuals and the voices behind the screen though really hard to pull off are managed with remarkable patience and expertise. Ice age is the kind of movie I could watch a million times and still won’t get tired! What about you?
