DAREDEVIL | S02E12 "The Dark at the End of the Tunnel"
In celebration of Daredevil: Born Again and the return of Frank Castle. Here is my tiktok edit
jsknske ok so now that Matt was in the spiderman movie, technically everyone else from his series is canon in the MCU too right? SpongeBob is also canonically a thing since Tony made Squidward jokes. do you ever think that maybe before everything happened it was a joke amongst Frank and the rest of the troops that Schoonover kinda sounded like Mr Krabs-

Daredevil season 2 rewrite
For the sake of this rewrite, imagine that season two was split into two. The Punisher storyline will be season two, the Elektra storyline will be season three, and the Kingpin-Bullseye storyline will be season four. Okay, here we go.
Season 2: The Punisher
1) Episodes 1-4: Covers Frank’s initial reign of terror. It’s pretty much the same as the actual episodes 1-4. Frank arrives, begins attacking NYC’s gangs, and Daredevil intervenes. Episode 4 ends with Frank getting arrested.
2) Episode 5-6: Covers all of Frank’s trial. Episode 5 is where Frank says he’s not guilty while episode 6 covers the actual trial. We get more of Frank’s backstory, as well as some flashbacks to his family. Matt and Karen start picking up on pieces of a conspiracy linked to the Castle murders. Episode 6 ends with Frank ruining his own defense and getting sent to prison. There, he meets Wilson Fisk.
3) Episode 7-8: The season splits into two storylines. Matt, Karen, and Foggy start following the trail of a drug lord known as “The Blacksmith” (our Big Bad of the season), who apparently set the Castles up, while Frank navigates through the prison. The Blacksmith is revealed to be Ray Schoonover, Frank’s commanding officer. Realizing that his secret life might be exposed, Schoonover declares war on Daredevil and friends. Meanwhile, Frank is freed from prison at the end of episode 8.
4) Episode 9: Backstory episode on the Blacksmith. The episode covers his fall from grace in the military, his rise to infamy as a drug lord, and his betrayal of the Castles. In the present day, Matt goes after Castle when he learns he’s somehow escaped. Like in season 2, we get Matt visiting Fisk in prison, Reyes’ assassination at the hands of the Blacksmith and Frank saving Karen from getting killed by assassins.
5) Episode 10-12: The climax of the season. Matt and Frank form a temporary alliance in order to take the Blacksmith down since they realize they can’t do it alone. Matt, Foggy, and Karen suggests taking Schoonover down legally but Frank wants bloody justice. Episode 11, we get the scene where Frank burns his house down and makes the Punisher vest. The alliance falls apart in episode 12 when Frank storms the Blacksmith’s fortress. Despite Matt, Foggy and Karen’s attempts to stop Frank, Frank kills Schoonover, thus setting up the showdown for the season finale.
6) Episode 13: The season finale is Daredevil vs. The Punisher. Frank attempts to flee the state in order to kill the remaining members of the Dogs of Hell, the cartel, and the Kitchen Irish, while Matt pursues him, hellbent on sending him back to prison. There’s some setup for the Punisher spin-off, such as Frank finding the Micro disk and Karen learning that Schoonover was working for someone even more powerful (Rawlins). The big climax is when Matt corners Frank. Frank tells Matt to leave him alone while Matt says Frank is going back to prison. They fight and Matt wins. Frank compliments Matt for rising up and defeating him as he is arrested. After the battle, Karen learns that Matt is Daredevil (like she has a realization about him). Season officially ends when the prison transport bus that Frank is on suffers a freak accident, in which Frank is the sole survivor. Frank comments that, once again, God decided to let him live and he leaves the scene on foot.
7) Episode 13, post-credit: Matt is in his apartment. He’s suddenly alerted when he senses someone else in the room. It turns out to be Elektra Natchios, setting up season 3.
Season 3: Elektra
1) Episode 1-2: Covers Matt and Elektra’s feud with the Yakuza. Elektra also meets with Foggy and Karen and tries to get them to help in the investigation, which they refuse. She ends up forcing Matt, Karen, and Foggy to help her by initiating a feud with the Yakuza. The three decide to help, but only to get rid of the Yakuza and stop whatever it is that they and Roxxon are planning.
2) Episode 3: The Matt and Elektra flashback episode. This episode is mainly a flashback, serving to establish their doomed romance. In the present day, Matt and Karen try to be a couple but it’s clear that Matt is still in love with Elektra.
3) Episode 4-5: Covers Team Daredevil and Elektra’s investigation into Roxxon. Karen and Foggy do their own sleuthing by investigating some members of Roxxon with ties to the Yakuza while Matt and Elektra sneak into a Roxxon gala and steal top-secret documents. Episode 5 ends with the discovery of the giant hole in the ground.
4) Episode 6-7: Introduction of the main antagonists of the season, the Hand. Matt and Elektra are attacked at the giant hole while Karen and Foggy are attacked elsewhere. Stick saves Matt and Elektra while members of the Chaste rescue Karen and Foggy. Episode 6 is mainly an action episode, which follows the heroes’ first encounter with the Hand, episode 7 features most of the exposition.
5) Episode 8: Stick and Elektra-centric episode. We get more insight on Elektra’s past, mainly her upbringing through the Chaste and her relationship with Stick. In the present day, Team Daredevil investigates the Hand facility known as the Farm. There, Matt learns that Nobu Yoshioka is still alive and is behind the events of the season.
6) Episode 9: Nobu Yoshioka-centric episode (since he’s the Big Bad of the season, he needs his own episode). We learn about Nobu’s origins, the lore of the Hand, the Black Sky myth, and his ultimate goal of achieving immortality. In the present day, Matt frees the captives from the Farm and sends them to the hospital. Elsewhere, the Hand begin moving in on Team Daredevil.
7) Episodes 10-12: The climax of the season. These episodes cover the Hand’s attack on the hospital and Stick attempting to murder Elektra when he realizes she is the Black Sky. In addition, we get scenes of Karen and Foggy working with the Chaste to fight the Hand, the revelation that Nobu isn’t the leader of the Hand and that he answers to a higher power, and also a reference to Iron Fist being the key to the Hand’s immortality. Elektra learns she is the Black Sky at the end of episode 11. Episode 12 features Elektra choosing to fight the Hand instead of accepting a role in their organization and ends with Karen and Foggy being captured, setting up the season finale.
8) Episode 13: Pretty much, the season finale follows how the actual season finale went. Matt and Elektra confront the Hand in one final battle, Elektra is killed, and Nobu is killed after Matt throws him off the roof and Stick beheads him. Frank Castle makes a brief appearance when he shows up to help Matt battle the Hand, like in the actual episode (this is the only time Frank shows up this season). Matt, Karen, Foggy, and Stick attend Elektra’s funeral, Karen and Foggy make their peace with Stick, and Matt leaves the trio to be by himself. Season ends with Matt tossing the Daredevil cowl away, signifying he doesn’t want to be the Devil anymore, which also sets up his arc for the Defenders miniseries.
9) Episode 13 post-credit: Elektra’s body is exhumed by the Hand and she is placed in the device responsible for resurrection.
@lostinthespeedforce, @fadedtoblue, @angel-starbeam, @whistlingwindtree, what y’all think of this rewrite?
I love sudden Clancy Browns
That guy has been in so much stuff, but I only notice his face now that I have played so much D:BH. Rewatching The Punisher season 1 and boom... Sudden Clancy
lieutenant castle wanted to abort. said the mission was a bust. pulling the plug would save lives. officer in charge said no. and why was that? maybe he wanted more medals on his chest -- doesn’t matter. either way, frank was right. they were cut off -- boxed into a canyon. and what happened next? within the first hour, the officer in charge of that mission got his arm blown off, so, lieutenant castle assumed command. his only goal was to get his men out alive. the enemy had set up an ambush at the only l.z. that would accommodate one of our birds. sorry, colonel? l.z. is a “landing zone” that can accommodate a helicopter. so, the enemy ... had blocked this landing zone ... knowing it was the only shot ... the team had to get out alive. all they had to do was wait -- knew that frank’s team had to come to them. fish in a barrel. so to speak. only fish don’t know they’re gonna die, these men did. frank went to the l.z. ... all by himself ... draw the bastards away. why didn’t he order one of his men to do it? he certainly could’ve. not his style.
so, the men hear the firefight break out. all hell breaks loose, frank against god knows how many. and then there was silence. the team thinks, “...that’s it. frank’s dead. and we’re next.”
