Hoooooo boy after five (5!!) rounds of interviews with this company, I got the call from the recruiter today and she offered me the role!
It's been almost a year since I was laid off at my last job (#StartupLife lol) so I'm stoked to get back into my field. And work with this team because they've been super cool and friendly so far!

bsd is a phase i don’t think i will ever get out of (fortunately or unfortunately, up to interpretation) but its become a defining part of my identity and i owe a lot to the fictional character, osamu dazai. i feel like he is one of the only characters that really resonated with me and made me feel seen, someone who does not feel human regardless of their biology because of the things they have done and the things that have been done to them. i also greatly enjoy the author osamu dazai’s works a lot and they are some of my favorite parts of japanese literature. i have read almost all, if not all, of his works and own a physical copy of a lot of them.
anyway, today is his birthday and i want to express my appreciation for this day. both me and dazai have survived another year without meeting our end by our own hands. even when we want nothing more but to die, we keep living. to find a purpose in this world? or perhaps to become a better person? regardless of why, we keep living. and sometimes we aren’t so alone. sometimes it isn’t so bad.

tma fans is it weird to go on morning walks putting on existential crisis instrumentals and pretend you're s5 Martin Blackwood and the guy with you (who has never listened to tma) is Jon Sims and since you live near rural-like areas it's the perfect apocalypse atmosphere (there's almost nobody, anyone he interacts with is a fear entity he's planning on smiting and any other person we see is being tortured by a fear) and that one field with the rotting paprikas is part of the Corruption and the place where there used to be old-fashioned circus tents and now only weird lights remain is courtesy of the Stranger and you've been walking forever and wonder how many of your friends are dead or worse and realize you cannot will yourself to look at him because you once loved him but hate who he is now

And fuck my job for making me sit through a 20 minute training session on the use of AI within the company, led by an AI generated avatar.
The people who are doing good work are not the ones feeding their emails to AI to make them sound more professional.
We work in Healthcare. Generative AI is not going to help us. It can't make decisions, it cant evaluate patient health. It can't replace human connection, and it is making people stupider.
I'm all for automation in my field of work, but generative AI is not that.
