“Everything is changing, You say we’re fadin’, You say we’re weighted down, Oh baby, you should know by now, That you can’t stop me…” You look up at Rayna as you sing, feeling Sadie by your side as you re-record the song, glad of the comfort of your friend. “Do what you gotta do, Say what you gotta say, Go if you gotta go, But I hope you stay.” You look at Sadie as you sing the next lines, letting your heart flow into your voice, the music light as your voice grows gently husky. “But we can make it, If you could just hold out, And Baby I just can’t lay down…” The music continues, you sing and you dare to hope that taking your last chance isn’t going to be a mistake. Sadie pulls you closer when the music ends, your grip tight on her as you finally let yourself cry, nearly losing Rayna is killing you. Rayna slips into the studio, her arms curling around you as you cry, her voice low, satin soft. “I’m not leavin’ baby, I’m alive, I’m here.”
