he had not expected it. perhaps he should have. she was always surrounded by hunters, people who lived to track, to judge, to kill. sooner or later, someone was bound to discover what he truly was. sooner or later, someone would decide that he had to be put down. to them, he was a monster even without having harmed a single soul. in their eyes, being different was more than enough.

the arrow cut through the air, swift and precise. his senses where sharp, sharper than any mortal's. and he could have stopped it easily. but he didn't. daisy moved first. with all the strength she had, she shoved him aside, placing herself squarely between him and the three hunters across the room. the impact sent him stumbling back, just far enough for the arrow to miss. and just like that, she had made herself a target. crimson eyes locked onto her, wide with something dangerously close to disbelief.

she knew what they were capable of. she knew what standing in from of him meant. and yet she had done it anyway. why ? the answer stirred somewhere deep inside him. because she cared. and that was the part he could not bring himself to believe. not him. not above all others. for the first time in longer than he could remember, the god found himself standing behind someone who was protecting him. and he did not know whether that frigthened him ... or if it meant more than he was ready to accept.

Hands rested upon her hips, keeping her as close to him as he could after the win in the ring. It was just them in the locker room by now, thankfully. He would prefer his father not walk in on their moments and he knew by now that after his wins, they needed some time alone. Sure it wouldn't happen here but it would start. He'd already showered, the press taken care of, he was officially all her's and the look in her eyes told him that. Her added words only confirmed it for him, his smirk tugging at his lips as leaned down. Their lips now inches apart from one another. "You have me curious on how you plan to do that, iubire." He half mumbles, leaning in further to meet her lips in a kiss. One that he only deepens after a brief moment, pressing her against him further. Andrei was aware to not go any further, preferring to have his time with her in their hotel room but he also was a bit impatient in the moment. "Because we both know I like to focus on you no matter what." He finally says after pulling a bit away but not fully. He was still leaning over her, the boxer could almost press his forehead to her's if he wanted. "But either way I would prefer us to not do that here." Another kiss given before he's pulling away and this time standing to his full height. He removed his hands from her hips to pick up his duffle bag and grabbing her hand to lead them both out of the locker room. From there it was just a quick car ride away from their hotel.

marty's  boots  click  against  cracking  pavement,  it  has  been  a  long  time  since  anyone  has  given  this  place  any  care.  there's  rust  eating  away  at  the  metal  of  rides,  moss  growing  on  abandoned  plush  prizes,  and  a  few  of  the  mascots  look  like  a  horror  movie  after  facing  the  elements.  marty  loves  it.

❝  hey  joey,  be  a  good  date  and  win  me  that  ugly  ass  bear,  yeah  ?  ❞  she  smirks,  pointing  to  a  bear  that  was  once  bright  pink  but  now  is  as  grey  and  green  as  the  body  they  stumble  upon  the  next  booth  over.  marty  comes  to  a  halt,  eyes  widening  a  moment  before  sighing  heavily.  ❝  can't  even  have  a  fun  time  any  more  without  something  dead  showin'  up.  ❞  the  death  was  obviously  not  natural  causes  which  just  pisses  marty  off  more  before  sighing  heavily.
