my art school assignments are stacking up and i don't really have that much time to draw for myself, so i thought i'd finally upload a @barrenclan edit i started making back when issue #12 of PATFW first came out and finally finished it some time ago

17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what

Sadly, I'm one of those artists that completely forget to eat/drink while drawing. I do usually have my water bottle next to me, but if I get up to eat something that means it's gonna take another half hour until I get in the mood to draw again.

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways

I guess I really like styles that can utilize very saturated colors effectively. I don't really like saturated colors, so people being able to blend them seamlessly together really shows a skill with those colors that I do not have.

Ophidia is fun conceptually but the staggering lack of effort to even pretend these weren’t cats changed into foxes at the last minute is glaringly obvious just from how much they use their claws like felines. At least pretend you care about the biology of the species you’re writing please

13: Do you have a voice claim for the character? What do you imagine the character sounds like?

No voice claims yet unfortunately </3. I have an idea of what they sound like, both Rose AND Hemlock, but finding specific voices that fit is always such an ordeal for me. I’m sure one day I’ll find something!

Rose gets older over the course of the story, but they’re very much an angry snarky kid at the start, trying to make up for being little by being sooooo loud and mean.

Hemlock’s voice would be a lot softer by comparison. He’s not one to raise his voice. He’s not like an OLD old guy but he’s like. Mid age equivalent. He’s been in the garden for a while.

14: Do you have any quotes tied to the character, either from the story itself or from another source that fit them?

I’ve been listening to Groan by Dazey and The Scouts a lot recently. It reminds me a LOTTTT of Rose in particular. One of the lyrics that I’d like to make a drawing with is “you want a fresh cut flower, and I’m your sweet red rose.”
