ROWAN (HOPE) GREENWOOD is a 138 year old PANSEXUAL, CISFEMALE, SHE/HER here in Upper America. People say they look a lot like KATIE MCGRATH. They are a SURVIVOR but can be PENSIVE. They are a LESSER WEREWOLF. They do not belong to one of the COUNCIL FAMILIES in the city living in The Underbank and are CURRENTLY UNEMPLOYED.

Rowan belonged to a surprisingly large family, and was the middle child with an older brother and sister, as well as a younger brother and sister.

She was your typical middle child, always the peacemaker in arguments and probably left to herself the most as she grew up. She doesn’t much like conflict, though she certainly has a protective streak for those that are close to her.

When she was young, Rowan used to sing often – and her wolf name was Melody. However, times have changed.

In one fell swoop Rowan lost her family and her freedom – she was taken into a freak show and was initially advertised as their lone wolf.

She was quite literally dragged kicking and screaming, fighting against her captors as she tried in vain to get to her family; to do anything to save them.

The leader of her captors was simultaneously fascinated and repulsed by her.

Eventually they realised that lone wolves don’t last and when she started to fade, another wolf was brought in to join her. She felt incredibly guilty for being the one to subject them to such a fate, and wished they’d let her fade.

The two of them were chained up with heavy restraints during the full moon – and that was when the freak show truly began, wasn’t it? Instead of being allowed to bask under the moon and be at one with their forms, they were chained down and leered at.

40 years felt like an eternity with the freak show, regardless of the reality of the time passing and Rowan had all but given up when a flash of lightning returned it to her.

She and her fellow wolf were rescued in part thanks to August Nash, whom she associates with her newfound hope and freedom. 

In fact, it was August who bestowed her new wolf name upon her, watching as the glimmer of hope inside her began to come to life again.

Still new in the Underbank, she hasn’t quite found her place yet – and is currently unemployed while she works on overcoming the trauma of her past.

RHIANNON “RIA” ALEXANDROV was born to exceptionally wealthy Russian immigrants, and raised into the New York elite. She is the second of two children born to Misha Alexandrov and his wife, Daria, and was conceived within a similar time frame of her half-brother, ERIK CASTILLO. Her childhood was split between a bustling luxury apartment life in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, and an opulent country home in the nearby Lower Hudson Valley. She attended the lavish and private Trinity School, where she was exposed to a superior education. She led a tightly-packed schedule that included competitive horse-riding and jumping, violin, and ballet. Despite the golden image the family displayed, the reality was only gilded. 

There was NO ROOM for disappointment in the Alexandrov home. A family motto was if you’re not first, you’re last. Exceptionality was expected, and failure to comply resulted in punishment. Long and intense silent treatments were doled out frequently by the matriarch, while the Alexandrov patriarch believed in a sharp slap to the face to make his point. It was unsurprising to anyone who would bother to look that Ria grew up DISTANT AND ANGRY. A singular comfort in the home was the family’s maid and the mother of her half-brother, GLORIA CASTILLO.

Alcohol became a comfort in her young adolescence, and was chased quickly with colorful pills that promised a world away from the icy one she knew. REBELLION in her later teen years was marked by escapes to endless parties overflowing with alcohol and drugs. HEROIN became her habit of choice, and with it she fell away from the carefully-crafted role she’d inhabited within the family. She was sent away to attend a rehabilitation program: THE FAMILY CLAIMED SHE WAS STUDYING ABROAD.

This pattern of relapse and rehabilitation would go on through present day. In order to be MONITORED, she was given a do-nothing career within her father’s company, and an apartment under his name. EVERYTHING SHE HAD RESTED ON HER ABILITY TO PROJECT THE IMAGE DEMANDED OF HER.
