rage of the titans + characters

So fun thing I learned today about Rage of the Titans: apparently an LI’s character is different depending on who u romance.

For example: Jason and Murphy

In Murphy’s route Jason has been essentially bullying Murphy leading to Murphy’s feelings of inadequacy and fear that he’s not good enough for his friends.

In Jason’s route Jason and Murphy never even interact and there’s no indication that the two have ever had any problems whatsoever. Murphy is never treated differently or poorly by any of the friends, which means when his diamond options pop up he comes off like he’s whining about the friends and how sad he is because there’s no context but the dialogue is the same. In this route Jason is just a sweetheart who had a sweet unrequited crush on Andrea in high school and wants nothing to do with any of this; he just wants two things: to be left alone, and to develop a relationship with his father.

So essentially in the Murphy route:

Jason = jock bully / Murphy = brave underdog

In the Jason route:

Jason = jock with a heart of gold / Murphy = whiny

I have no idea why it’s framed this way. It makes absolutely no sense. Murphy’s plot doesn’t exist in Jason’s route and Jason’s plot doesn’t exist in Murphy’s route.

But I guess this is why a lot of you guys don’t like Jason, and why I physically can’t stand Murphy.

Another thing i absolutely love and love about romance club is, you can actually have a platonic relationship with a character if you don't want to have a romantic relationship with them, and be good friends. And rc potrays them well <3

As much as i love romance, I'm also a slut for platonic bond, that shit is rare in media, especially in games.

I adore my mc's relationship with Murphy, Jason and Hephaestus as friends.

some of my favourite platonic bonds on top of head, even some were just for few moments:

- Catherine and Andrew in 'On Thin Ice'

- Irene and Fagin in 'Sins of Arcanum'

- Agent Wolf/Agent Doe with Kurt in 'Love from outer space'

- Vicky and Admiron Winchesto in 'Heaven's secret'

- Andrea/Artemis and Tom/Apollo in 'Rage of the titans'
