The BEST pets in RC…

Sometimes the best people are animals — even fantastical ones. These wonderful creatures are faithful to the MC or a LI. These are my favorites. What did you name yours? Are there any others you would add to this list?

10. Aker, Song of the Crimson Nile: Anubis’s furry lie detector. Idk how they can be so afraid of him. He’s so cute and fuzzy, like a giant golden retriever with two heads.

9. Narialm, The Thunderstorm Saga: That’s our Dragon! We just got acquainted with each other. He’s technically not a pet, because a dragon can’t be owned. But he’s still ours. ❤️

8. Eris the Ermine, W: Time Catcher: I had the hardest time choosing a familiar. Ermine, falcon, or snake? I went with the ermine because I thought it was a unique animal for a pet/familiar. Too bad we couldn’t rename it. I might’ve named him Ron Weasley. 🤓

7. Sprite Eagle, Heart of Trespia: I thought her original name, Aurora, sounded too people-y. So I changed her name to Polaris.

6. The Horse, Vying for Versailles: We got to pick our own horse! Hasn’t every girl wanted her own horse at some point? I picked the blonde one and named her Meringue. That’s what her mane reminded me of.

5. The Dog, Song of the Crimson Nile: Between the dog, cat, and falcon, the dog is my favorite. He’s got the cutest smile. I renamed him Moon. It turned out to be the perfect name. My Eva is an oneiromancer and she’s Livius’s moon. 🌙

4. The Tiger, Kali: Flame of Samsara: Pet tiger! I named him Killer to scare people even more when introducing him. 😂

3. Seaweed, Soulless: Seaweed is Walter’s/Cynthia’s, but he still counts as ours. I’m claiming him. 😆

2. The Wolf, Astrea’s Broken Heart: I love the wolf. He protects us not only by standing guard, but by mauling bad people for us. Isn’t that sweet? I also liked that it could tell Malek was bad news. I couldn’t come up with a good name, so I just called him Guardian.

1. Hobello, Shakespeare’s Code: Not sure if Hobello actually counts as a pet. He talks, does magic, and has been human at least once. But he is our faithful animal companion. Do you think he’ll turn into a LI later on?
