2 miles in 2 degrees (real feel)! Mostly running, but also a good amount of leaping, hurdling, sliding, and splashing involved.
((wore: sugoi bun toasters, sugoi firewall tights (windproof), thin socks, wool socks, tracksmith brighton base layer, lululemon down running jacket, two pairs of gloves, fleece running hat, fleece neck warmer/face mask. I was not overdressed lol))
i thought to myself, "self... there's a perfectly good trail not two miles from where we work. why don't we run there on the regular, instead of running the road?"
so we did.
and it was good.
control what you can control. trust everything else.
my college coach
The original plan today was 9 miles, but we had crazy wind that kept me inside on the treadmill. I made it through 4 before I gave in and called it- I just do not have the mental capacity for long treadmill runs and I’m so impressed by people who can do their entire long run on them!
Tomorrow I’m going to shoot for 8 outside, even though it’s going to be cold as hell. 😭 Is it spring yet?
Zephyr always gets so confused when I come back from a morning run and it's STILL not time to feed him breakfast.
I forgot to post this yesterday, but I ran the longest I have in ages on a very scenic route along a frozen river. Got a tiny bit lost, overshot the distance, and needed to take the subway the rest of the way home after hitting 12 km, but an excellent run overall.
We got something like 20 cm of snow yesterday, so I woke up today with no idea whether an outdoor run was going to happen. But I looked out the window this morning and the sidewalks looked fairly clear, so I headed out the door. Most of this was actually great. The sidewalks weren't too snowy, the sun was out, and it wasn't too cold. There was one pretty dicey section when huge sections of sidewalk weren't clear, so I was stumbling/leaping more than running. But I lived to tell the tale, so no worries here!
