fitness daily: all body parts pain free. mental limp'g along. 3mi/30min #morningmileage
Moving has me pretty out of sorts. I miss my routine and can’t wait to get back to it. In the meantime though I’ve been staying kind of active clocking up runs for the SlowTwitch 100/100 challenge. My goal is to get to 50 (I did 42 last year and 26 the year before) and so far I’m mostly on track.
(Pictures are: an assortment of views from my outdoor runs; the medals from the very first running races I ever did; the torture treadmill at the firehall - not only does the belt skip every so often, it’s also located under a heat lamp!)
Treadmill TV
For a long time, I used Bitgym while treadmilling. But, since I don’t have a paid subscription that meant watching the same video over and over again. Dreadmilling is boring enough without have to be extra bored by looking at the same path every time.
It has been really hot lately so I’ve been using the treadmill more than usual. I have now switched over to the Treadmill TV YouTube channel. There I can watch virtual runs from all over the world. I like running in places I have visited so I especially enjoyed Chicago, London and Paris. I will be trying the rest over the next treadmill sessions. Treadmill TV also has some that are in 360 VR and these are interesting because you can see a lot more. On the other hand, it is kind of hard to steer the view around while treadmilling. Unfortunately, Treadmill TV doesn’t include the same kind of informational pop-ups as Bitgym.
Here’s my virtual run wishlist:
i would like to see more animals. I’m not sure how that would work, a lot of editing I guess, but it would be cool.
I want a virtual run through the gardens at Versailles.
I want a virtual run through Dinosaur World with pop-ups telling me about the dinosaurs.
The original plan today was 9 miles, but we had crazy wind that kept me inside on the treadmill. I made it through 4 before I gave in and called it- I just do not have the mental capacity for long treadmill runs and I’m so impressed by people who can do their entire long run on them!
Tomorrow I’m going to shoot for 8 outside, even though it’s going to be cold as hell. 😭 Is it spring yet?
40 minutes of dreadmill. Garmin said I only did 3 miles. Treadmill says almost 4. Granted I did walk another 5 minutes. Something is still off. I did not feel like I was running a 13 something minute mile.
Either way a run is done. It was terrible. I need better head phones.
So glad I got off my lazy butt and ran this weekend!
Getting it done between work, appointment and night classes. Night classes that finish at 9:30pm (aka my bed time) is going to take some work to get used to. . Today was a quick 30min for my second workout, but every training counts. . . . #triathlon #swimming #trichicks #triathlontraining #damoremckim #run #dreadmill #swimbikerun #ironmantraining #ironman703 #treadmillworkout #tri365
Today was supposed to be a rest day but my emotions got the best of me today a few times so I went and let it out on the treadmill.
Eventually I’ll be happier with where I’m at and what I’m doing. Eventually I’ll see results and faster times and progress.
I just want to eat halo top ice cream and grumble. But I don’t have the ice cream…
