End of January: 2023
As far as painting goes this year has started very well. I have knocked out 5 of my monthly RCL categories and 2 of the quarterly ones. I am still plugging away at the last 3 for the month. I am almost done with my new release and freebie. The PC mini is just barely started because I pulled it out of a box 2 days ago. Why come into my life and tell me all these pretty lies?
Acting like you want me back, but the truth is in disguise.
Disguise. The guys, you see.
Itās them thinkin women will wait for eternity.
But wait for what?
Something of no value, no love, just a temporary nut?
Boyyyy shut the fuck up š
I donāt got time for this shit.
Iām a grown ass woman and respectfully, I been that bitch.

Dear Charlie,
I always think Iām getting better. I really do. But my bipolar always gets in the way. Itās not even extremely high versus extremely low. Itās more like extremely low versus baseline. I honestly donāt really remember what true happiness feels like. Itās been over six years now, since I was twelve.
Three years ago, I thought that I wouldnāt be alive today. But I keep pushing that back year after year. Will I be alive this time next year? I donāt know. But I know Iāll never have the guts to properly go through with ending my life.

Charles Harlan at JTT Gallery
Charles Harlanās artwork happens at the meeting place of man-made and natural objects, so it comes as no surprise to see him engage repeatedly with boats. For his current show at JTT Gallery on the Lower East Side, Harlan disassembled a boat belonging to a late family member of JTT Gallery owner Jasmine Tsou, turning it into two objects that evidence the effects of time and nature on a once-cherished object. (On view through June 17th). Charles Harlan, RCL, wood, fiberglass, plastic, stainless steel, installation dimensions variable: (part I), 63 x 60 x 51 inches (part II), 45 x 75 x 60 inches, 2017.
