The public run club has been awesome for me. I have not felt this pressure-free and successful in my running in a LONG time. Today I even ran FIVE miles. If you know me, that doesn’t seem like much. But I honestly have barely managed more than 3 for months and months and have felt so discouraged. I’ve been feeling really good and really free. It’s been awesome.
Yesterday morning’s run with my training partner aka the LAST run of my 20s! After a few weeks of completely awful to moderately crappy runs, this was a joy, and I felt so strong and happy after!
Then yesterday afternoon at a brewery with my husband and some friends to celebrate my birthday and see a friend who was visiting from CA! It was so good- I am not usually a huge beer drinker, but this place is one of my favorites.
All in all, I think I’m ready to take on 30 (for now)!
Been feeling some type of way lately. Running has been a huge help in dealing with things. Here are some update photos and the pups I’ve seen around during the last month or so :)
Officially started training today for my next great adventure! T-9 weeks until my first ultra, the Rosaryville Veterans Day 50K 😱😅💪🏼
Died a little bit on my long run today only to be revived at mile 12 by a handful of pretzels + a chocolate PB GU 🙌🤤
Does running to work count as multitasking? Asking for a friend... 🤔
Not to jinx things, but I think I’m back! 🤞🙌
Tuesday- 3 easy miles on the treadmill. I had my foot taped up but it felt weird so I took the tape off after the second mile. Foot felt a little achy but otherwise good; no sharp pain and my gait was unaffected. No swelling or soreness afterwards.
Wednesday- 4 easy treadmill miles. Foot felt even better than on Tuesday and didn’t bother me at all during the day. Again, slight intermittent aching during the run but otherwise good
Thursday- 5 miles out on the road. Wow it was so great to run on the paved trail again! I barely thought about my foot during this run and no soreness afterwards.
Today- 8 mile run home from work (with pack). Everything felt great and I felt really strong! I’d say at this point my foot is at 80-90%. Planning to jump back in to the training but stick to the roads for a bit longer until the foot is back to 100%. I can’t wait to get back to the trails!
