can I borrow a few books? — Greg Snider

If anything about the above quote makes you feel seen then this is a book for you. Greg Snider combines some of those iconic traits and moments of reader life with bright and amusing cartoons to just remind readers they aren't alone. I confess is both an introduction and something of a contents to the book (there is an index). The lines end up marking the chapters or at a minimum the grouping themes for small sections. Honestly, I just spent a lot of it thinking oh that is me, I do that. That and marvelling at the detail included in some of the full-page illustrations such as The Writers Retreat. Not all of the comics included are directly related to reading or writing. A favourite among the others is Adventures of the Ampersand. My librarian self really likes Please Do Not Leave Your Children Unattended in the Library, it's a twist in perspective (but seriously supervise your kids libraries aren't daycare services).

This is a book for all readers and acknowledges different kinds of readers with respect and humour. Some traits are universal to us all, some are unique to certain types but if you are a reader you will likely find yourself in this. It is a lot of fun and I do recommend it.

september 5th- life recently :)

oml i cannot say enough about the book i just finished! shirley (by my girl charlotte brontë) was simply wonderful.. i can't believe how amazing the writing was and how much i loved all of the characters. all i want now is to be caroline helstone. i do believe this may be one of my new favorite books. in other news, i finally finished my penpal letter so hopefully that will start it's journey soon! (it's mystery themed XD) i'm once again contemplating starting a youtube channel... but idk i feel like i'd get too lazy with it hmm.

I love Howl's Moving Castle by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, so I decided to start off 2021 by reading the book that the movie was based on. I've never read Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones before and I'm so excited!
