1. my favourite watson/ holmes moment is in the musgrave ritual. it is so cute how warson complains about holmes being untidy. they are so sweet. like an old couple. and then holmes trys to distract watson. this is great. i find a lot of myself in this behavior. 2. i enjoyed the gloria scott more for it was the better story. if you take the story literal, the musgrave ritual and especially the thing about the trees is rather silly. also, the story of victor trevor and holmes is heartwarming. 3. i learned a lot of new things about holmes and watson. especially because i read it in english for the first time and the german translation is awful. i am quite shoked about all the mistakes which are there, mostly, on purpose. first i thought i just have a bad translation for there are several. but i looked through three different translations and they all put the relationship of holmes and watson in a wrong light. and also watsons descriptions of holmes and other people. in this storys for example we have ‘a certain quiet primness of dress’ translated with something like 'he had an accurate and punktual manner’. i feel i had to read the storys wrong my entire life and so i am very happy to read it as it was intended.
thank you very much for leading me and so many others through this reading experience. and sorry for the mistakes. i enjoy it so much!!!

1. my favourite holmes/watson moment is “engaging rooms in the Crown”. They get one bedroom, sit there, talk and well… turn their minds to more cheerfull things… in their chared bedroom. yea. You have to pass the time somehow…by, just for example… smoking a pipe… this is the real answer to the question how many bedrooms those two actually need.
2. I liked “The spraceled Band” more because it has everything! Evil stepdads, exotic animals, old houses, a mysterious damsel in distress, murder, a far too complicated plan, a dark history, gipsys- everything.
3. I learned how very caring Holmes is. Not only to Watson whom he don’t want to put in a dangerous situation, but also towards the woman looking for his help. He is so very concerned about the stepfather hurting her. Also, he is very funny. I loved how he treated the stepfather when he was at 221b. He did not judge by the gender, or by money. He just treats everyone the way they deserve. He is just great!!
and of course: Watson the fanboy. Loved that.
