books have definitely ruined real life relationships for me.
like, what do you mean you’re not completely devoted to your lover? and what’s with all this toxic behavior?

i don’t make the rules - if you read, you‘re hot.
i shouldn’t have access to money that covers more than just my bills.
i would end up purchasing a hardcover copy of every ebook i’ve read and liked, just to support the author.
i’d be broke all over again in no time.
waiting + reading = most relaxing thing today
(bonus points for parking in nature)
i need to get good grades and i need to get a good paying job because how else am i supposed to pay for all the books i need to buy?
you‘re all better than me because what do you mean you actually finish a book after not liking it (not dnf)?
i alsways put it aside, think „i will finish it later“ and never touch again
kindle unlimited is a blessing.
i have thousands of books i can read whenever tf i want.
i can read books of small indie authors (they are often so damn unique) that only published their books there.
it’s not even for the price of one book.
and you can even access is without an ereader. you can literally just use your phone.
i do love „rebuy“ - a recommerce company, specializing in buying and reselling used electronics and media products.
i often get second hand books from there for a pretty good price.
i also love that they want to give things a new live, like yes, i‘m all in.
but here is where my love lays low towards them.
why is it considered good to remove dedications with white out? these are second hand, i want the personal touches.
they say it is to „be able to resell the books as new or at least well preserved. This serves to optimize the sale price and increase acceptance among potential buyers“ WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT THAT.
i think it looks even uglier like this than when it would have been left like it was before..
i tried to preserve it but WHY do it in the first place?
(not the only book but the one that was nearest)
what it says translated from german into english: „Have fun reading. We can all be heroes! Christian Handel“
