i will never relate to how people only read books for smut and not the character developments, the adventures, the struggles and challenges the main character has to face, how the plot thickens and the stakes are getting higher - and just everything else that is important in the book.

Following on from anon’s post about the NM’s ‘spark’ as a protagonist - what would you say that is?

This is an older ask now but anyone could send in what you think the 'spark' would be for the MC character. I would be curious to hear too!

You don't know how much i love reading from others. There's this little jump my heart does when it's surprised by some thing, and like this is a very specific reaction i can't get from myself and my own writing (unless i'm rereading something i wrote a while ago, but this is very rare). And i LOVE this sensation. I don't know if it's related to serotonin or something (probably, idk) but it's basically what i love the most when i read. Being surprised, smiling whithout thinking because of what i read. Waiting greedily for my eyes to catch up on the next line (because i never seem to read fast enough) and then feeling that little tug, that little shrinking of something in my chest... I don't know. I love this. I'm just so glad some people out there were able to write the things that give me this.
