Day - 315
Isn't it odd how much fatter a book gets when you've read it several times? As if something were left between the pages every time you read it. Feelings, thoughts, sounds, smells...and then, when you look at the book again many years later, you find yourself there, too, a slightly younger self, slightly different, as if the book had preserved you like a pressed flower...both strange and familiar.
-- Cornelia Funke, Inkspell
Do you guys know those books that just hit on a very exact and deep level that it just gives you a whole new inexplicable feeling and like momentarily a new outlook on life and-
Like those books that reading them gives you the tunnel scene feeling from Perks Of Being A Wallflower? Like I’m blanking on examples other than Perks of Being a Wallflower and like Turtles All The Way Down (I mean any John Green books tbh but that one hit different)
But like does anyone have any book recs like that that just kinda makes you feel like alive like they’re a bit sad but they just kinda still make you feel human if that makes any sense??
Xanax.
From the table’s rim
The ink smears,
As the pills collide
With glistened tears
-
The jewels in my hand,
Oh take my pain away,
Don’t make me bestow
You in my poisoned shallow ways
-
Like a dullard shall I grin
For like a lover shall I sigh,
As I write my foolish verse
For like a fire shall I die
-
As I rush through the alley,
With a dreary-hazel coat,
I look for solace
In my mucky scrambled notes
-
Pour I poison in a flask
So I drench the feathered tip,
As the scarlet ink smears
And scatters on my lips
-
I smudge it furthermore
Must I have a rosy lip,
As I put it on my tongue
In a faintly tiny strip
-
The poison stains my heart
In bitter, tyrannical ways,
Alas, with a smile on my face
My eyes are turning grey.

Hello people,
So here I'm starting a post with a book quote from the book I'm currently reading. You too can add yours further. Can't wait to read all the lovely quotes coming in my way. Also, don't forget to mention the name of the book and author!
Book : The Ministry of Utmost Happiness by Arundhati Roy
Next Friday I will be uploading the very first chapter of my new Wattpad story, “Her Guardian.” 😄
SYNOPSIS
Yes, this story is about dragons.
No, this is probably not the type of fantasy story you would expect.
The year is 1981, and nineteen-year-old Toby has been in love with Gwen ever since they met back in middle school. Everything had been going great since then, but in a few weeks Gwen would be leaving for college to get her degree in Biology and Toby would be left trying to start his music career... alone.
Little did he know, that was the least of his worries.
Merely weeks before her departure, Toby learned that Gwen was not only in danger from a dragon-riding maniac, but was actually protected by that very same type of creature, a creature she shared a mental connection with.
Now Toby has no choice but to protect the woman he loves in a strange world that had been hidden until now.
For Toby the stakes are death.
But for Gwen, death is the sweeter fate.
