It's simple and cute--a little bit dated--but in an endearing way. I definitely felt bad for the mice when they realized the food was fake.

Eloise antics in The Plaza read just like that of a six year old who has the run of a hotel--from the sing-songy repetition of phrases and words to the activities she does to amuse herself (dumping water down the mail chute, for example). I can't say I'd like Eloise to be living in my hotel, but I sure enjoyed reading about her tearing it up in someone else's.
I have two copies of the book I'm reading, one for work and one for home. Sometimes I toss the work copy in my car though just in case I want to stop along the way and read a bit. Then I get home, exhausted, and the first thing I bring inside is the book. I look for a place to put it down, and then I see my home copy. I smile and shake my head.
