This is quite honestly the funniest idea for a comic I've ever seen and it's carried out BRILLIANTLY 👏😂

So it's called "Archmage Curriculum" in a modern world where people can learn magic and the strongest mage is this really kind hearted dude who wants to help everyone but..... he looks like this.

Imagine being so ugly everyone who looks at you passes out from shock 😂😂 like stop it's so funny 😂 and the artist did such a good job making this dude creepy!

And part of the story is that there's a "serial killer" who has been killing bad mages and this guy is hunting him, but he's unaware the rumors are ABOUT HIM 💀 it's actually hilarious

Reading Recommendation 13: in another time (it was you and me)

I just re-read this and realised I never made a post about it! It's just so good, I can't not shout it out here.

This is just… chef kiss. Got my heart broken and mended again. Jason and Percy are really well in character, you got that stubborn, loyal-to-a-fault, self-sacrificial Percy and that caring, team leader, sixth sense for when something's wrong, lonely pretending to be strong Jason… it's perfect. It's delicious.

It's basically written like a montage, cutting back and forth between past and present, and the writing is very efficient in that regard – you get the cliff notes of HoO and ToA's plot, no unnecessary rewriting of scenes that aren't needed to understand the plot. Less really is more here so the scenes that are rewritten from canon can have the full effect.

(I never read ToA past the first book, but I got sufficiently spoilered to follow along here, if that's relevant to you.)

The backstory for how Jason and Percy initially got together is… I want to say "depressingly heartwarming" because they didn't get to have their happy end in that timeline xD but it's cute as hell and they get to rebuild something from the ashes, so it's alright in the end! Plus, some very neat exploration of the whole "fatal flaw" stuff Riordan wrote and forgot about, what that means for Percy… I want to bite it, it's so delicious!

I'm running out of ways to badly phrase my obsession with this fic so… read it. Just read it. Whatever I try to write about it can't do it justice.

Tbhx fans, If you like stories about a dystopian superhero society featuring a reality-bending glasses-wearing finger-snapping character, with a diverse cast of well-written and lovable characters, I suggest you check it out! While X is a mysterious & overpowered hero who’s in reality a chill dude, Sayeon Lee (Hand Jumper’s mc) is a plain looking person who’s very much not chill on the inside (and losing sanity points each chap xD) who’s willing to ruthlessly use her time bending ability to achieve her goals. I especially like how Hand Jumper explores how trauma and reality altering abilities affects one’s morality, especially when you lose accountability for your actions.

Hand Jumper’s beginning might make you think that this is your standard superhero school story, but it quickly delves into societal issues related to having a minority of the population with extremely destructive powers & inhuman durability and the use of this danger to justify oppression & discrimination against a those Aberrant humans.

And the central piece, Sayeon Lee, is a very well written extremely analytical morally gray protagonist whose crumbling sanity and growing god complex worsen as she comes to terms with her ideal of a Just world vs what reality is really like, how she is but a cog in a oppressive system that will be discarded when she looses use, as she confronts her own repressed childhood trauma and as she realizes that she can get away with implementing increasingly insane & manipulative schemes. While still trying to convince herself that she is just doing what a good & logical & morally upright person would do.

The art style is also well done and always gets better, as the artist-author keeps honing their skill over time! it is especially gorgeous when we look at Sayeon’s more unhinged moments:
