15 & 16 for ed?
YAYYYY ed my friend ed :]
15. How does your character answer when somebody asks their pronouns? Not just what their pronouns are, but what do they say? How do they feel about it?
it depends who's asking, honestly! ed was treated more like an object than a person after being reanimated and sort of took the idea that other people would designate his pronouns for him as a given, since they did with everything else. getting asked about her pronouns for the first time would have been something small that showed her "oh people are capable of thinking of me as a person and I can make my own decision about this".
having said that, she probably would have said something along the lines of "people tend to call me 'he', but 'she' would be all right too, if you like. I don't think I prefer either exclusively" upon first being asked, and "both she and he are fine- I prefer people to use both if possible, rather than one or the other" after gaining more confidence
16. How important to your character is being identified correctly? Will they correct people who misgender them or assume the wrong orientation?
in terms of gender, the answer's a bit complicated. ed doesn't feel comfortable being called exclusively a man or a woman, but is okay with masculine or feminine terms. he assumes most people can tell he's trans, but not enough to feel sure of his orientation/gender without asking. with people she doesn't know, she doesn't mind neutral "they", but will correct people who she'll be seeing or interacting with more than once. it did take her a bit to get to that point, though, due to the aforementioned being treated like an object.
as for orientation, ed considers himself to be sapphic/"nebulously queer" but wouldn't have a problem if a guy who's into guys flirted with him. I think she'd just be kind of confused if someone assumed she was straight. like "what about me could have possibly given you that impression"
thank you for the question! feel free to send more from this list!
