ok well what if nancy wants sabrina to tell her how pretty she is then?
' YOU KNOW, NANCY WHEELER, I THINK APHRODITE CRAFTED YOU HERSELF. ' it is a high compliment from the witch, the highest she can give. ' i think the gods challenged her to create the most enchanting creature possible, and she called upon the sun and the flowers to add warmth and brightness to you. ' sabrina may be the witch, but nancy is truly enchanting. ' when you enter a room, i feel like a sunflower turning to look at the sun. '

We should normalize breaking off ships, especially when you as the mun are losing interest or things have changed in the dynamic and your muse would realistically break up with their partner.
I think people treat shipping in this community super seriously (generally, but S.tranger Things is very ship focused I’m not gonna exclude us in this) and I see a lot of people regard their ships as if they are all committed, serious relationships that are destined to last forevermore.
Realistically, couples break up. Marriages fall apart, people fall out of love, etc. There’s a lot to explore in those dynamics: writing the moving on process, the complexities of either remaining friends with or making an enemy out of someone you used to love, etc. I feel it’s so unexplored, but it’s also taboo in some weird sense where it’s like ‘if I break up the ship, they won’t interact with me anymore and we won’t be friends anymore, etc’ when that should be treated as a natural part of your dynamic progression.
Also, like on an ooc front, your partners will notice when you are drifting away from a ship. When you stop sending memes, wanting to plot or write about them, etc. I’ve been in ships where I’ve been pulled along like a dog on a lead where they’d toss me a begrudging bone every now and then but wouldn’t ever admit that the ship had fallen apart and they weren’t interested anymore. Breaking off a rp dynamic should never be treated like you are breaking up with a significant other ooc. It happens, and it’s better to communicate when something isn’t working for you.
Trust me, when you don’t do that, resentment will build, you’ll hurt your rp partners, and it’s very noticeable. It’s better to say ‘hey, this ship isn’t working out, can we try something else/break them up/whatever?” instead of giving some silent and/or distant treatment to your writing partner.
Then again, I could stress the importance of communication in this hobby over and over and it’ll never get old because it’s still a major issue I see time and time again.

Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion. Bonus points if you include a topic. ( IE. shipping, roleplaying, ect. )
OOOF! watch me get cancelled for this but... i don't understand why people get to precious and preachy about muns aging up characters, and i'm not talking about 'aging up characters only for the purposes of smut' but like, aging up a character a few years really isn't that a big deal, because ya know what? people get older, as writers its normal to want to explore our muses at different stages on their lives. its also okay if you want to write a minor character but age them up to 18 for your own comfort, it doesn't make you a fucking weirdo. when i started writing jb jones back in riverdale days, i wrote he before she was even ON the show, and i wrote her like a year younger than the main cast so she could interact with the main cast, it made sense!
for me, i'm not a linear writer, i love jumping around timelines, going back in time, forward, setting verses in the future etc, and to be there is NOTHING inheriantly bad about doing so. it's literally fiction, we're literally a bunch of nerds on the internet writing our little stories who fucking cares if we fudge our characters age by a few years here or there, bc lbr half our favourite shows don't even bother to keep consistency to KNOW what age their characters even are!
so, i'm just like, you do you bestie, wanna age up your muse to explore their lives in a slightly differnet timeline, go ahead, i for one won't be standing on the side lines yelling nonce for no goddamn reason lmao xD
I would like to give @rebelcliche a shoutout for being such a much-needed representation of Nancy in the fandom. She is one of the staples of my dash and I know it wouldn't be the same without her. Her portrayal is always on point and she clearly loves Nancy and it shows in everything she writes for her. 10/10 blog through and through.
