Recipe 7 | Pork Chops with Kale | September 28, 2015 Oh. My. Goodness. I have never made pork chops by myself before, so I was a bit nervous....however. This turned out super well, was so tasty and honestly very very easy. The kale soaks up the juices from the garlic, tomato paste and pork and it all becomes delightfully delicious. Would highly recommend as a week night meal! P.S. (I was so proud, that I asked my friend who I was cooking dinner for to snap a quick picture.) Recipe #7 - Apple Pie Moonshine: Final Thoughts and Recipe
Review: All I can say is: YUM. Wow this is an awesome recipe! It's not really the right time of year for it but it was so scrumptious I didn't care. I ended up sharing it with my sister who loved it as well.
I actually had a little trouble starting out because I realized that apple cider is only sold seasonally and thus I was short one ingredient. However, I looked up how to make it from scratch using apple juice and it turned out to be pretty simple! So, although I'm counting this as one recipe it was actually a two-parter. I also ended up cutting down the original recipe to get a smaller serving.
This drink is really filling and dense, I recommend drinking it a little bit at a time.
The Recipe for "Homemade" Apple Cider:
Here's my source
4 cups apple juice
1 tablespoon grounded cinnamon
1 tablespoon of honey
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
10 whole cloves
The Recipe for Apple Pie Moonshine:
Here's my source
4 cups apple juice
4 cups apple cider (in my case I poured in my homemade brew)
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
1 shiny apple
Even if you wait for the fall, please try out this recipe. Check out the source pages. I think, in the end, it was for the best that I made the apple cider from scratch. I recommend using that method.
Recipe Number 7 - Apple Pie "Moonshine"
Apple Pie "Moonshine" is a recipe inspired by The Bone Yard speakeasy in Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake. The game has posters everywhere boasting about Moon Lake Moonshine and I just knew I had to do another drink recipe.
This is yet another recipe I would love to return to (especially in the autumn and winter months) because it's so delicious and warms you up! It's a very soothing, sweet drink that would be perfect for a cold night.
It also made my house smell fantastic!
(Note: This drink is non-alcoholic, the recipe is designed to have moonshine added to it but since moonshine is illegal, I refrained.)
