*please read this if you need context: Strawberry: 2 Lines & A Circle : An in-depth description: Strawberry (tumblr.com)
To be perfectly honest I’m stuck on how to explain Riddle because he belongs so much with team strawberry that it’s hard to describe it. So, it might be hard to understand. Alright so Riddle is super cute like a strawberry, so I don’t think I need to explain his cuteness.
However, his tart side would be the, well, the other side of Riddle. I wouldn’t say it’s just his rules or anything like that but it’s the other parts that make Riddle well, Riddle. He’s someone who is very honest and loyal, yet he also gets cocky at times.
If I had a scale to place his cuteness and tartness it wouldn’t tilt either direction because Riddle has a good balance of both. However it is important to note that even though he is balanced between the two they can contrast at times. Such as in the Ghost marriage event, he is one of the very first people to step up to join in the fight against the ghost bride. This didn’t have an ounce of cuteness but more reliability. Plus, this doesn’t happen often but Riddle does pout a good number of times which adds to his tartness. Anyway Riddle has a good balance of tart and cute in him.
If I figure out a better way to say this I’ll probably post a revision of this. If you have any questions just use my ask box or put it as a comment and I’ll try my best to answer them.
Here’s just some recommendations if you want to enjoy an otome game character similar to Riddle.
Chikage from Enchanted in the Moonlight, if you want to explore someone who has the sad backstory and is sweet at the same time I would definitely recommend him. In his route, the Mc is to be protected because she is in danger from other bad spirits. During their time together she opens up his heart while solving his dark past.
While he isn’t an exact copy and paste of Riddle, I would say he’s got a pretty similar feel to him. If you want to know more here is a link to check out the prologue on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIGwfw6IAY4&list=PL4NQUCRKB7P8tUI0_bU2MhOT5FCP73aEO&index=39
P.S Here’s a complete playlist of his route if you’re too poor to play the game just don’t tell anyone where you got from. Chikage: Enchanted in the Moonlight - YouTube

Rolling in the Deep and Into the Drowning Deep
by Mira Grant
This month I read both ‘Rolling in the Deep’ and ‘Into the Drowning Deep’ which are horror books centered around two expeditions one to the Mariana Trench and the other to the Challenger Deep with the aim to find mermaids, following as they find exactly what they’re looking for. Though I enjoyed them both, if I had to pick one that I preferred it would have to be the novella prequel Rolling in the Deep, I just found it a very fun time maybe it’s because I read it first but I found it really refreshing. Both books lean more towards scifi rather than fantasy, to me they had a bit of an Alien vibe though they don’t really follow a set protagonist switching POV often. 4/5 Stars
When the Tiger Came Down the Mountain by Nghi Vo
This month if I had to pick a favourite book I’ve read it would be ‘When the Tiger Came Down the Mountain’ the second book in Nghi Vo’s ‘The Singing Hills Cycle’ the story like ‘the Empress of Salt and Fortune’ follows the cleric Chih, this time follows them as they tell the story of Ho Thi Thao and her courtship of Dieu in a hope to stall their audience long enough to survive the night... kind of in the spirit of Shahrazad. I personally love Nghi Vo’s writing style I find it lyrical and simply enchanting. I simply loved it and will definitely reread it at some point. 4.5/5 Stars
Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
Get a Life Chloe Brown is just chamomile and honey for the heart, it’s a contemporary enemies to lovers romance following Chloe a web designer who lives with chronic pain and as a result has somewhat withdrawn from the world and Red the superintendent of her building, artist and domestic abuse survivor as they fall in love. This story is really cute and the characters are lovable and realistic, and the banter between the two feels natural. Its just a nice fun story if you like or want to try more adult romance I definitely recommend. 4/5 Stars
The Tea Dragon Society by Katie O’Neill

Happiness Vol. 1 & 2 by Shūzō Oshimi
Happiness is a manga series following a boy who one night survives an attack from a vampire and how his life changes along with him after being bitten. Thought the story seems pretty straight forward I really love the artwork of this series, the character development and what can I say, I love a good vampire story. 4/5 stars
