Facial Reconstruction Surgery This young lady had undergone craniostenosis surgery many years ago. She now has a large bony defect on the left side of her cranium with only a dural covering. Any little bump over the region always caused her a great deal of anxiety. She also had a canthal deficiency with a lowered lateral canthal attachment to her right eye. The large bony defect was addressed first with placement of a titanium mesh over the exposed dura. Costal rib grafts were then harvested from the patient. This was utilized to augment the bridge of the nose to give her a sharper profile. The right canthal attachment was then elevated. This was followed by osteotomy of the chin with chin advancement.
