Don Reno & Red Smiley - Country Boy Rock ‘n Roll
Yee-haw, amen, and kick it on down the road.
In 1972 Reno & Smiley released this collection of songs titled “Last Time Together”. Although primitive stereo with vocals on one channel and instruments on the other this was pretty rare to be able to take 1963 recordings and reissue these original recordings.
Enjoy!
In 1971 Reno - Smiley and Bill Harrell released Letter Edged In Black.
A little slower, more ballad like feel than a lot of Reno’s other things.
Enjoy!
In 1966 Red Smiley & The Bluegrass Cutups released “Sing 18 Of Their Most Requested Gospel Songs. Straight forward traditional bluegrass gospel music.
Enjoy!
In 1963 this collection of various artists was released as Mountain Folk Song Concert Bluegrass Style. This one was shared with me by another internet vinyl fan. Hope you enjoy it.
Enjoy!
Reno & Smiley - Using My Bible for A Road Map (1952)
Well it’s Sunday ain't it? Reno and Smiley were a bluegrass duo who had a hit with this gospel song.
Rural Rhythm Records is launching a new series of classic bluegrass reissues for online download which they are calling Rural Roots Digital. The first two re-releases include timeless albums from Red Smiley and The Bluegrass Cutups, and fiddler Curly Fox.
