I've had that happen to me before with Hancock. I didn't realize I shot a settler in the middle of a gunfight and the dismissal thing popped up with Hancock hating me. :( Needless to say, I reloaded to an earlier save to fix the issue.

I had this happen with X6 because I pacified some synths I was fighting. I've also had preston and curie leave because i accidentally killed innocents.
Hahaa, so I probably accidentally shot somebody as well. ^u^ I know I TRIED to shoot the friendly turret a few times because that’s what VATS aimed at immediately so -shrug emoji-. WELL I’m gonna pretend that that didn’t happen because Deacon was entirely chill afterwards, does not hate Jay, so I’m just gonna pretend he didn’t want to leave in the middle of a fight. xD
