Still having doubts about Reda. Isn't it interesting that he demanded that Carrie leave her home, and the guy across the street soon knew he could tip off the press? Reda got Sekou his job back, and the guy across the street soon knew where to plant the bomb. Reda is suspicious of Carrie as he watches her being taken to PEOTUS. Maybe it's far-fetched, but I think he's a suspect. Any thoughts?
Reda has no motive. Can’t be a suspect without motive 🕵🏼♀️
Something feels off about Reda. He was the one to get Sekou his job back, and the guy across the street from Carrie was immediately aware of this before his first day back on the job. We also saw Reda intensely watching Carrie get into the secure vehicle on her way to meet POETUS. Maybe he's even the one who gave her the flowers? I'm wondering if he, Notto, and POETUS are setting Carrie up. Thoughts? Am I overthinking this?
Hi Anon, no I don’t think that’s what’s going on. Reda and POETUS both have agendas that would be completely undermined by an explosion in NYC at the hands of a Muslim terrorist. Why on earth would they frame Sekou? (Notto is a non-issue, so I am not discussing him)
Reda’s role this season is sort of like Jonas’ role last season. S5 Carrie had to learn that she couldn’t have a relationship with a civilian; she learned that through her botched relationship with Jonas. S6 Carrie is going to learn that she can’t have a normal civilian job; she will learn that through her botched partnership with Reda.
Notice how Reda repeatedly points out to her that she’s not on a mission? Hint, hint.
Basically, Reda’s main purpose as a character is to push Carrie back to the CIA by showing how completely incapable she is of having a normal job.
