That story from one of Bran's chapters about the Thing-That-Came-In-The-Night and carried off the apprentice boys.
“Long ago, multiple apprentice boys at the Nightfort claimed to have seen something which came in the night, but their descriptions of it differed when they informed their Lord Commander. Three boys died within a year and a fourth went mad. The thing is said to have returned a century later, this time with the apprentices shambling behind it in chains. Old Nan told the children of Lord Eddard Stark about the thing that came in the night, among other scary stories. The legend may be included in Harmune's Watchers on the Wall.“

I recognize most of these, but which movie is the last gif from?
Last one’s Dark City. A cool sort of gothy cyber noir film from some time in the late nineties. Kiefer sutherland is a kind of batshit scientist in it. It’s very fun, would recommend.
Which ASoIaF scenes that you thought would be popular fan art subjects are actually rarely or never depicted?
I’ve thought about this for a few days, and y’know, the one scene that’s really visually striking but I’ve never seen depicted is where Beric raises Catelyn from the dead. To be fair, the scene itself didn’t happen on page, it was only described after (and before) the fact, but a lot of book scenes are like that and they get fanart all the time. And there’s tons of Red Wedding fanart (which comes in all sorts - my favorite far-out depiction is the Guernica-inspired one), there’s tons of Stoneheart fanart, there’s even art of Catelyn floating naked down the river and Nymeria finding her body, but I’ve never seen that one scene:
“They said… they said that you were dead.”“She is,” said Thoros of Myr. “The Freys slashed her throat from ear to ear. When we found her by the river she was three days dead. Harwin begged me to give her the kiss of life, but it had been too long. I would not do it, so Lord Beric put his lips to hers instead, and the flame of life passed from him to her. And… she rose. May the Lord of Light protect us. She rose.”

Dude, being married doesn't stop Davos from almost worshipping Stannis.
hehe true! I always thought Davos loyalty to Stannis was too extreme, though i never though he’d like to literally fuck him XD

this is so cool!!! Kudos to you and your husband!
TY friends!! It was a little spendy and I had to bide my time and save, but just for the record, for USAnians you can order these from www.themurphydoor.com. Shipping is a sumbitch, but every so often they have free-shipping specials (4th of July, Memorial Day ...?). You can also buy these at The Home Depot, if that’s a store you still care to patronize ...
Not sure if there are good (affordable) options outside of the USA. There are DIY videos and pages out there but they assume some carpentry skills and tools, which I certainly did not have ...
We took our time installing this, the first week after it came we just watched videos about removing and installing doors. Then we took one weekend to take the door trim off, another weekend to take the jamb out, then we found out that the opening in our wall was too short by an inch, then finally yesterday we rented a saw, shortened the bookcase door jamb, nailed it in, and got the door itself in the door jamb. Next weekend we’ll put the new trim on so it’ll look more finished ... unless we decide to paint it first. I’d rather stain it than paint it because it’s more handsome, but our baseboards are painted this beige grey color that I find very bland, so I may have some persuading to do. I’d rather mismatch for now and replace the baseboards when I’m richer. Anyway, you can probably take the old door out put the new one in all in one day, we were just nervous and then we ran into the height issue, and I had homework.
For renters, you’d probably need a really nice landlord to get them to let you do this, but OTOH, it seems like a really cool feature that would up the property value? But what do I know. Removing a door definitely wasn’t as scary as I feared though.

That's bizarre. Honestly it doesn't sound like they're rational enough to be raising a child.
I mean they’re good parents, far as I know. Kid’s got her own room. This is just a very new and deeply worrying development.
