Redpaper's parents, Jaguar and Golden Orb.

Lore and their son under the cut ;P

Jaguar was around 20 when he came to Pantala looking for his great aunt Otter, not expecting to find new tribes. He met Golden Orb during a quiet period in Wasp's reign, there wasn't much activity from the leafwings and the chrysalis hadn't been founded yet. Golden Orb was surprised when she found Jaguar, he was sick and very hungry so she took him into her home and Vinegaroon Hive, Jaguar was mostly baffled on how he ended up on the western side of the continent. They got along quickly and had Redpaper after a few years. One of the first leafwing sightings after the tree wars had Wasp on full continent watch, including Golden Orb. She saw Jaguar and drove him and the hatching out of the hive with Golden Orb, assuming he would die after taking one of his eyes and the dragonet would starve on its own. Jaguar managed to find a swamp near beetle lake and nursed his wounds. He's lived there since, watching the hives from a (safe) distance and not sure exactly how to escape or free Golden Orb from Wasp's control. After book 15, they reunite and rekindle their relationship, Redpaper quickly growing close with his mother.

Redpaper, hive/mud. I'm gonna start putting my oc lore under a cut cause its getting to the point where I'm starting to write actual paragraphs.

I'd like to think that hybrids were more common than we were lead to believe and Wasp hid their existence as information control. Redpaper's father, Jaguar, came to Pantala because of the disappearance of his great aunt Otter (Redpaper is actually Mangrove's cousin twice removed). He never did find Otter but he did fall in love with a Hivewing, Redpaper was their child. Wasp wasn't blind to this and quickly found out after he was born. Jaguar and Redpaper fled and have lived in the small remaining swamp around beetle lake, waiting until Wasp lost power to find Redpaper's mother. Redpaper himself is a bit closed off and stoic, preferring comfortable silence to talking, but he's an exceptional hunter and gatherer and is very close with his father. After book 15, he quickly becomes close with his mother too and they make up for lost time.
