Anyone remember the hiveswap comics contest? I made a comic EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK. for the damn thing and this one was my favorite. So I decided to be really ambitious and remake it. Obviously I changed some stuff up. Mostly to make it a bit closer to canon since now we know more about the jades and their dynamics. I know it’s still not ENTIRELY canon compliant, but I tried my best. Happy to know I just barely managed to do a better job at drawing crabdad this time lmaoooooo…

It was also a great excuse to experiment with comic panels and my art style. It was exhausting low key…

There was a period of time where I was extremely fixated on trickster mode specifically. I wish we could have seen more of that in the comic with the trolls or even the beta kids. It would have been fun.

Anyway a small part of me wants to make these into stickers someday, so I might end up drawing the humans in their trickster modes too at some point. Eventually.
