Hey. I wanted to properly respond cos your tags really resonated on my post, but I felt like I’d potentially (and very much unintentionally) based ofc writers.

When I read straight fics, for some reason (even with an ofc) my brain puts my consciousness into the female character and then if the dynamic isn’t something that wouldn’t work for me, it becomes the equivalent of trying to jam a square peg into a round hole - ugh, unnecessarily graphic metaphor, but anyway. Slash is more disconnected. It’s what they want. Not what I’d want, if that makes sense? It lets me focus a lot more on the subtleties of them as characters especially if it’s different authors writing the same pairing. Nuances. Yes, them.

I should have gone to sleep by now, but I just got an hour of my life back, so might as well use it unproductively 😏

First of all, I get everything you said! I read OFC and even reader insert fics regularly (well, whenever I've got time 😅) and they make you picky because of that thing I think you expressed very well! When you connect or relate with a character and things begin getting weird or uncomfortable it is the worst...

And I didn't mean to "defend"/"attack" any type of fic on my tags... I am very open to new things so whenever I find a fic and it is interesting, if the style is good and I know the fandom... I will read it! That is truly all I meant to say.

There really isn't much more to it, I didn't get the vibe you were coming for someone so don't feel bad about that (? If that concerns you).

For some reason, however, slash fics in the f1 fandom tend to be so much more complex and well thought out...maybe motorsport IS homoerotic...?

I follow you because a) gifs are top quality, great job, b) Lando content is the best and c) because there's usually some kind of carnage and honestly, the drama in this place delights my soul! :D
