Walking identity crisis go!!
Match is someone who masks her insecurities with confidence and attitude. It's self-doubt, mostly.
It's common for her to come across as inconsiderate. She has a clique that she sticks with most of the time and doesn't often concern herself with the feelings of others.
Except for one person-- her best friend Pencil. She's there for Pencil. She listens when Pencil wants to talk and loves hanging out with her!!!
She seeks Pencil's approval above all else. She literally gets to be Pencil's second in command(or just kinda... Put herself there and Pencil didn't bother stopping her) and she wouldn't have it any other way.
Match is someone who... doesn't really know who she is. Who she wants to be. Who she should be. But she's able to push it to the side when she's not alone.
As long as she has purpose, she is fine. She will be fine.
Match is often described as a softer Pencil. This is because she acts a lot like Pencil, together or apart-- she parrots her friend.
She is the #1 Pencil apologist. Every reason Pencil has is totally valid. Wdym it's harsh or cruel? Okay? Match does not care.
There's Bubble, too. Match thinks Bubble is cool!! That's her other friend.
FreeSmart-- the team to ever.
Ruby! A young actress who Pencil keeps getting on for her energy. Match tries to intervene sometimes-- Ruby has a tendency to cry. She thinks Ruby is pretty cool!
Ice Cube!! She's quite mos of the time-- but when she does speak up, expect to have your actions talked about.
Book. The only reason she gets as far as she does is because of FreeSmart. She should be grateful.
Of course, Bubble is one of Match's closest friends. Bubble doesn't participate in BFDIA as a contestant, which is fine! She cheers the group on from the sidelines.
PENCIL!! Match loves her to death and starts to develop a crush on her around BFDIA and IDFB. It's romantic daydreams and Match being unable to bring herself to talk to Pencil about it.
Match is content being FreeSmart's second in command. She doesn't want to be IN CHARGE in charge, you know? Pencil can take the wheel and put Match in charge of certain things-- it makes her feel like she has a purpose.
It gets really screwed up in BFB. Pencil is eliminated first and leaves Match to be Iance's leader.
With being compared to Pencil, Match is just. Going to keep self-doubting. She can't lead. She can't..
Match stresses HARD. She decides that being a good leader is acting like Pencil, as usual.
But she can't be gentle anymore. She has to BE Pencil. Being Pencil means being strict, stern, and locked in. It means getting your head in the game and pushing the team to win, even if it costs them. The game is EVERYTHING.
In trying to lead like Pencil, Match hurts Bubble. She pushes Bubble harder than the rest of the team because she has high expectations for her. Bubble, as an OG member of the alliance, should be doing better.
But Bubble says that she's tired. Bubble says that she can't ignore what Match and Pencil have done any longer. The two start arguing and Match gets loud. Seeing the look on Bubble's face finally clicks for Match.
Bubble doesn't talk to Match for a bit. Match sits on this for a long time before BREAKING. What has she done?? To her own friend???
Match apologizes to Bubble. To her team. Bubble isn't ready to accept her apology.
That's okay. That's fine. Hopefully Bubble will soon. Everything is fine. Fine. (As her self-doubt gets worse! ^w^)
For four years, she's trapped in Four's domain: The EXIT. Exploring is tough, as Four checks on them from time to time to make sure they're doing their work.
When they aren't, there's trouble. Four can and will get violent.
Being out of the classroom has everyone's nerves boosted by. Eh. 100%!
But hey!! Match has Pencil. Aaaand Pencil puts her in charge of a group of people to find an alternative exit.
Match tries to argue. Pencil tells her it's the right thing to do. Match disagrees. Pencil urges her on. So now Match is stuck with Liy and Stapy.
Getting out of the EXIT is a relief, but they're put to work at Two's hotel with no break. (Mmmmay change this)
With time, Match builds up the courage to ask Pencil why she's been avoiding her. This happens on a stormy day!! Pencil tells Match to shove off.
Match urges Pencil to talk to her. Pencil tells Match to stop being clingy. So, Match asks Pencil if that's why she's been avoiding her. Pencil just glares.
It hits Match. This whole time. Pencil's been avoiding Match increasingly since IDFB.
Match starts with a "You're my best friend, Pencil-" before getting blasted into the sky by Four. Thanks Four.
Match lands in a weird place. Pillars of rock are everywhere.
She sits for a long time. A feeling of dread comes over her. For once, she can sit with her thoughts with nothing to fill the silence.
The silence is terrifying.
She's been comparing herself to Pencil for so long. Others have been comparing her to Pencil for so long. She's been. Pencil. This whole time and not herself. Imposter syndrome kicks in. She can't ignore it.
Eventually, she gets up and starts moving again. Who does she find? Bubble and Ruby!! Playing in puddles like they were kids.
Match approaches with hesitation, beginning to greet them-- Ruby SCREAMS Match's name and goes up to hug her. Match glances at Bubble.
Bubble glances back. She seems pretty uncertain still.
But, Bubble does walk up to Match, telling her that they have a lot of catching up to do. Match agrees.
They walk and talk about their experiences. By redux!TPOT 18 they should all be on good terms and even hanging out again-- although I do plan on exploring this area in redux!TPOT 18!!
