Little Warrior

So I mentioned a while back that I’ve been writing a few songs inspired by Redwall books... Here’s the first one, inspired by the original Redwall

I hear a warlord's coming,

He'll kill you in your bed,

Little warrior listen,

Lift up your innocent head,

The time for action is now,

No matter what the elders said,

I hear a warlord's coming,

And with him peace is dead.

I hear a warlord's coming,

At the head of a thousand men,

Little warrior listen,

Of the danger do you ken?

Sound out the warning bells now,

That the innocent may flee,

To enslave all the free.

I hear a warlord's coming,

With a vengeance cold and fast,

Little warrior listen,

To the secrets of the past,

'Tis there you'll find the answer,

To secure your victory,

I hear a warlord's coming,

He intends to slay thee

With a heart as dark as night,

Little warrior listen,

Stand up for what is right,

Don't let your spirit falter,

Against an enemy so cold,

Bit of a Redwall-inspired meal I had with my friends the other night. Salmon risotto, roasted vegetables, and fresh summer salad. Food can really bring people together, but cooking for others is something I don’t get to do as much as I’d like. I live alone in a small apartment, but that doesn’t mean I can’t feed my friends from time to time. Come on over any time you’re hungry!

Drawtober 2020| Lord of the Mountain| Day 11

I’m baaack….

I finally feel good enough with my eyes to actually do up some digital art and just decide to go mad hard on this one. I have been working on this peace for nearly +14 hrs. 

I decided to do a little homage to ‘Redwall Saga’, a series I read as a child and honestly want to pick up and keep reading. I got to the point in the novels where Redwall is no more and I kinda had a fun little head cannon where the Sword of Martin is guarded by the Last Lord Salamandastron. A young aspiring warrior wandering the dark and abandoned halls of this once great fortress only to meet its fearsome protector. The great badger Lord bitterly happy to see a new hero rise to protect these lands but, sadden that his home will now forever be forgotten and with his death no more…

It was really fun to work hard on trying to really show perspective, and the size difference between the two character. Also my head-cannons be dark as heck.

Drawtober 2020| Captain Clogg & Badrang the Tyrant| Day 19

Not feeling so hot so I did up a piece based on a thought that came to mind working...and looking at cute weasels with changing coat summer/winter coat pattern.

So I decided to do a fun little piece of Badrang the Tyrant and Captain Tramun Clogg, two weasel villains from Martin the Warrior. I also had seen the TV while the clothing plan was a inspiration.However, I wanted to make them while similar to what I remember and look up how they were described, (also a little help from the Redwall Wiki page for Clogg). I couldn’t remember what Badrang looked like nor was their description but, I figure since this boy isn’t nomadic like is pirating brethren he would be leaner, fitter with all the advantages of his castle and also that he would molt his fur to his winter/summer coats so in this one I sketch him in the middle of that. While Clogg, I figured would travel about staying where it was warm and the pickings were good and so wouldn’t really be subjected to such things. Cause I honestly hated many aspects of the Redwall TV Series character designs... but that be me.

This a fun character based upon the coloration of a French Angora Rabbit. I am a bit reminded of the book Long Patrol by Jacques Brian and inspired by the hares/rabbits that protect Salamandastron.
