Something I really appreciate about Redwall is how pacifism is viewed.

It is not wrong or looked down upon to be a pacifist - they have their place in the world, just as much as the warriors. If someone tries to be a warrior and ends up wanting to be a pacifist? That’s cool, it’s all good. Vice versa? Go for it!

While being a pacifist or a warrior are very different things, they both work together and are respected.

(Also death isn’t glorified. Even when they’re killing in self-defense, to protect their loved ones and their home, the loss of life is still that; a loss of life.)

i took a nap and had a dream that mattiemeo had a musical adaptation and that i was listening to the soundtrack. Slagar had a glam rock number where he was explaining his plan of revenge against redwall to threeclaws and at one point referred to himself as “the leader of the pack”. and he had gotten swarth sixclaw’s sixth claw as a good luck charm like how some people used to carry around fingers of saints. also the redwallers had an ye olde atomic bomb they used on general ironbeak but lets not discuss that!

I have a lot of favorite quotes from the Redwall books, although most of them wouldn't fit well in a yearbook, unfortunately (Such as the riddle poem from the first book, I - am that is). But one favorite that I could suggest is from Rakkety Tam, and is the ending 'invitation' to Redwall

"I will lay a place at our table for you and hope you can join us, if not in body, then in the world of your imagination, where you can visit us any time."

I played the theme to the Redwall TV show on my cello (her name is Eleanor)! It made me excited and happy to play a song I know that's so special to me, this music is enriching... and so was filming it!
