Hey! Apologies if you've answered smth like this before (tumblr was NAWT letting me search for anything), but I was wondering how you felt about commissioned work being made into physical merch? I have some characters I'd want to possibly get personal keychains/mini acrylics made for and really love your chibis, so I was curious!! So it'd technically be nothing extra artwise on your end, just comm'ing the art & having the item made :0

yes ppl have done this before! I am okay with it as long as it isnt mass made into more merch to sell ykwim, i also appreciate being told upfront so I can actually make the art with the merch dimensions/limitations in mind.... (Like if its gonna be a charm ill make sure to keep the squiggles i draw close to the figure instead of branching in all directions etc)

Mingjue is alive.

For once, Xichen abandons the rules by the wayside - every once of decorum is left where it can rot, because there has been an ice-cold fear inside him with every moment that Mingjue has been lost. He has been terrified - so deeply, deeply terrified - that at any point, Wen Ruohan would cruelly announce the death of the Nie Sect Leader, would send him out as a corpse to battle the people he had once fought alongside.

But Wen Ruohan is dead and Nie Mingjue is alive and Xichen runs.

He falls to his knees beside his friend in a skid that will mar his robes, but he cares not. Mingjue’s eyes go a little wide. “Xichen,” he says, and Xichen doesn’t know what expression is on his face but he doesn’t want Mingjue to see it.

Mingjue is seated and Xichen is on his knees and he draws his friend in, presses Mingjue’s face in an embrace into his chest as Xichen half-curls over his head, as if he can hide him and shield him and prevent him from being caught again.

“Xichen,” Mingjue breathes once more, his arms coming up to squeeze, tight and firm. Xichen is shaking, trembling, breath coming in short gasps, and he presses a kiss to the top of Mingjue’s head, his tears falling into his hair as he tries to calm, tries to restrain himself.

“I thought...” he says, soft enough for Mingjue’s ears only. Thought you were gone, thought you were dead, thought I would never see you again or touch you like this...

Mingjue squeezes him tighter. “I’m here,” he says, and they hold each other.
