First night impatient, I remember being so stubborn❗️❗️❗️❗️
It's almost like a real lunch and everything? 🥴 At a table and all, no less--not hovering by the sink for a change, just in case.
Yep, after this last gastroscopy ballooning treatment? I seem to be up to handling some not totally smooth soup and bread! Topped with some cheese spread he had in the fridge, full of little bacony bits!
Other supplies. I cooked some frozen chopped spinach in the pseudo-Indian lentil soup, thus the funky color. 🍲 (Actual vegetables, not pureed!!!)
And I purposely got a frozen loaf of soft easyish-to-eat GF sandwich bread, because I knew any fresh bread wouldn't get finished off in time. Worst case, I could keep the spinach and bread stashed for later, if I couldn't handle them yet. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Couldn't eat much at one go yet, after so long on liquids or severely limited totally mushy food. Feeling overly stuffed right now, tbh. If also ravenously hungry for All The Food, at the same time.
Trying to take it slow and cautious, though, as hard as that may feel. For the sake of my digestive system, all around, if nothing else. It's probably pretty shocked about now. But, I can't help but keep mentally lining up what all I want to try next! (Especially living in a new country full of interesting novelties, after nearly 6 months of having to resist most temptations.)
But, I made it through a very modest soup and "sandwich" late lunch, without any dicey moments! Counting that as a major success for the moment.
Did I put rose water in my Pedialyte this morning? Yes. Yes I did.
When my digestive system decides to start kicking in during refeeding
Could someone tell me if it's normal in refeeding for the body to physically reject the food? My stomach won't digest things fully and it keeps throwing up every time I manage a full meal. It's making it so hard for me to get myself to stick to properly eating😩
