Before November I had 7000 words on this WIP. And that had taken me all year.

Nano helped me find a routine and I've written another 3k this month already.

Now my goal of finishing the first draft actually feels achievable.

I've got a huge problem with my WIP

A key part of this story is that no one can use technology as it alerts our favourite villain.

But then what do I define technology as. Because technically technology includes things like shovels, which I obviously want them to be able to use.

And also as part of the plot I need someone to drive an old ute and not draw the attention of our favourite villain.

I went to defining it as anything with an electrical circuit, but cars have batteries. I could make it about like wifi access, but I'm not sure if I want them to have radio access, (although radios use electrical circuits).

They can't have internet access I need them to be cut off. And seeing as everything was destroyed they shouldn't have electricity or at least much of it.

Might have to leave nano under word count tonight and sleep on it.

WIP Revel and the Past - Revel lives with her aunt, and well that's normal. Except for the lack of knowledge about her family, and her aunt's aversion to it. A little mystery/urban fantasy story told in disconnected parts. The story can be found on ao3 here.

My respect for Vee for simply saying she isn’t ready to go back to the demon realm. Good on her for being aware of her limits.

Though that does probably mean we won’t see too much of her. And I like Vee, so that’s kinda sad.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? In person a lot, not online because I don't want people to think I'm being mean

What’s the first thing you notice about people? Their demeanour, and whether or not they seem approachable

What’s your eye color? Green up close, brown far away, so probably hazel

Scary movies or happy endings? Happy, no scary for me

Any special talents? Umm, nothing I would call special

Where were you born? In a hospital, somewhere in Australia

What are your hobbies? Writing, reading and music (both listening and making)

Do you have any pets? No, and I am afraid of most things with teeth or claws

What sports do you play/have you played? Basketball, swimming, trying to learn to rollerblade

How tall are you? Uhh, that's a good question, less than 170cm

Favorite subject in school? Music and English

Dream job? Writing would be pretty cool, maybe music or animation. Maybe all three

I remember I would have been maybe 5 or 6 at the time, I made a picture book about a giraffe. I'm not entirely sure of the plot but I have a feeling it may have involved the giraffe asking a variety of animals if they had seen his ball. And at that time I don't think I knew too many words so there's not a tonne of them, but I know I drew pictures in it. I wish I knew where that was now, but it could be anywhere. (Plus the drawing is probably better than my drawing now)

In terms of an actual written story I wouldn't know, probably something I wrote at school. But that would require some actual searching and I'm too lazy for that.
