Take a few days off of writing, which I wasn’t feeling too good about.

But I did use the time to go over the plot a bit more and flesh out some characters.

So now I feel a little better about tackling the writing again, after I wrote myself into a corner.

So now writing again today, I feel better. I know where the next few chapters are heading now.

Before November I had 7000 words on this WIP. And that had taken me all year.

Nano helped me find a routine and I've written another 3k this month already.

Now my goal of finishing the first draft actually feels achievable.

Feeling kinda proud of myself

As it is the 15th of November I feel like giving a little nanowrimo update.

I have written 13 out of the 15 days for a total of 6927 words.

I could describe the chart, or I could just stick it here.

My word goal for the month is 10000 which is 334 words a day. And even with the missing days, the days where I end up overachieving mean I am most definitely on my way.

Honestly I’m quite impressed and proud of myself for this

I went into November with Still Here sitting at just above 7000 words after having sat there for over six months, and in the space of two weeks I have almost doubled that number. And I have a much better idea of what the novel will be (and all the things that have already been written that need to be changed).

But yeah, I think I’m doing well, and I’m very proud of me.

Just finished with Hell Followed With Us.

I just wow. An absolutely incredible book.

If you can get past the Religious Trauma and all the other warnings I would 100% recommend.

I’ve been tagged by four people for a last line tag. And while I should (and would prefer) to do each individually, I have many tags to catch up on.

The last line from Still Here from my last writing session.

Not with the storm of emotions I had swirling about my brain.

I could give more context, or I could not and just leave people confused. Which I’m going to do.

I learnt a long time ago that when the wind starts to whistle, whistle that locrian tune, the only thing you can do is run. Run, and simply hope and pray that you might live. The wind whistles and all the birds take to the sky, fleeing frantically from what will try to kill them. If you want to live you must follow the birds, chase them through the thick vine filled forest that surrounds my village. They know which direction the danger is coming from; we do not.

My lungs feel almost aflame as I push through the plant scrub and follow after the birds. What was the majority of the village right behind me has turned into only a handful of desperate souls who still have strength left. For most, the moment the sky turns green is when they stop running, simply accepting that if they didn't get far enough from the village they would join the ever going list of the lost.

Despite that being what everyone does-everyone knowing that running when the blinding light that immediately precedes this disaster has resulted in far too many injuries, and some fatalities-I've never been able to bring myself to stop. So I keep running, even when I can't see my hands, or my feet. Even when my face hits the ground, even when I feel the scrapes form across my hands and knees. And I feel the tree I slam into and a pain in my left wrist as my vision goes black and I fall toward the ground
