Melody of Loss || Raziel & Pan
Feeling like this wasn't-- enjoyable.
Feeling lost, and [ abandoned ]
If he had to call it anything, he'd call it torcher.
Raziel thought he could trust the shadow. He thought that- just maybe- the shadow was just there to be his friend. He thought that- just this once- things would go right for him. He was in no mood for the trickery of the demon who brought him away from his home.
Well, maybe he should redefine home.
Sure- Raziel had a physical home, but he never felt like he belonged. The orphanage was just a place to eat, sleep, and make sad attempts at pulling the loose strings of his life together. It wasn't really much of anything, just a building.
There was Anael, one of the nuns who took care of him. She was kind, and gentle, but Raziel could see under her surface, the loss. He found out from an older boy that Anael could not bear children, after she had two miscarriages. It explains her behavior, and maybe her reliance in her faith-
And all these things added up into him letting in the shadow,
taking his hand, and following him into the [ dark ]
While he'd been amazed, truly he was, he was very much frightened. He had not ever been away from the orphanage for very long, the longest being one day when he ran away- only to come right back six hours later.
He didn't know how to live [ alone ]
So when he was dropped off on a beach in a strange land, he had no idea what he was going to do. He held his head, crouching down and burying his face in his hands.
❝ Where am I? ❞ he muttered to himself. ❝ What do I do now? ❞
