If you don’t mind me asking, why do your requests say closed forever? I just see that a lot with a bunch of creators nowadays and I wonder what was the problem with requests?
Because a lot of people forgot how to act, anon.
Requests used to be fun. Now they come with entitlement, repetition, and zero respect for boundaries. People treat writers like content machines, like we’re here to produce custom work on demand for free, and then get weird or pushy when we say no. Some spam the same request everywhere, some keep coming back with variations after being told no, and some just straight up ignore what you’ve already said you won’t write and start harassing you.
After a while, it stops being a fun interaction and starts feeling like unpaid labor with an audience that doesn’t listen.
So a lot of us just… closed them. Permanently. It’s easier to write what we actually want than deal with that constant noise.
It’s not the only reason fandom spaces feel quieter lately, but it’s definitely one of them. People get tired. And when something that’s supposed to be a hobby starts feeling like a chore, you either step back or you lock the door.
