There were few things in Andrew's life that he enjoyed more than a lively time with his family. But when lively turned to boisterous and boisterous turned to rowdy, Andrew felt quite ill-equipped to get his children back in line.
It felt as though he was suddenly the smallest person in the room. All eyes turned to him and each set was expecting him to do the right thing by them. How could he possibly make a choice everyone was happy with?

Aldridge Park
Built at the behest of an up-and-coming businesswoman at the end of the eighteenth century, this is the country manor for the townhouse sim. Rooms are comfortable but not oversized; the attached orangery and romantic formal gardens are ideal for entertaining fashionable guests (or for taking in the island air alone). And thanks to a full servants’ wing and courtyard, butlers and housekeepers will find hosting events at this getaway to be a breeze.

The tone of the meal continued in the pleasant direction the staff had set the conversation in. It was an unusual way to run a household. Andrew didn’t have the edge, as Thomas might have put it, to lay a firm enough hand to hole more than the honorary title of head of the household. Thomas was, behind closed doors, the one who ran the business of the estate and Elizabeth managed everything that happened inside of Osbeck House.
Lady Elizabeth's role was, of course, was one that she was expected to play. The way in which she executed it was what the society the Lemington family occupied would find unusual. Even the breakfast the family took was not a typical practice by most, a seated breakfast with the entire family present. But, Elizabeth insisted on it when she joined the family. The cobwebs of grief had been living in the nooks and crannies of the home for so long and she was convinced time spent together was the only thing that would be able to sweep them away.
As the meal came to an end, the family began their procession from the dining room and onto, what others might find more appropriate family activities. Jane and Elizabeth would spend the morning in the drawing-room, Emma would be taken away by Mrs. Evan’s for her daily lessons, while Andrew, Thomas, and Peter would lock themselves in the study, Thomas pouring over the family business trying to get his father to commit to any decision and Peter from sneaking away while their father’s back was turned.
But, the one family member lingered in the dining room. Jane, wrung her hands, hating to ask the question and second-guessing her suspicion as she expected Mr. Wynn to share if the letter really had been for her.

With the support of his staff, Andrew found himself capable of putting his foot down to bring a stop to the bickering that was filling the families breakfast table. There was an unspoken appreciation that he felt towards Ms. Rowley and Mr. Wynn, who had learned to step in when his lordship had lost his footing.
