No. 258 – Froskip
The Frost Fin Pokémon
Type: Water/Ice
Height: 0.5 m (1'8")
Weight: 8.2 kg (18.1 lbs)
Field Note Entry:
Froskip is a playful amphibian Pokémon found in glacial freshwater pools. It uses its oversized tail fin and head fin to propel itself through icy water with surprising speed. Its translucent blue scales allow it to blend seamlessly into snowmelt streams. The large external gill fins expanding from its cheeks are highly sensitive, able to detect vibrations caused by predators or prey under ice.
Biology:
Froskip’s internal temperature stays warm due to an insulating mucous layer and anti-freese like liquidpresent in its blood, helping it survive in subzero waters. It often burrows into slushy snowbanks during blizzards, entering a light sleep to conserve energy.
---
Appearance:
Froskip has a compact, rounded body covered in smooth, pale ice-blue and white skin. Its head is adorned with a large rounded dark blue and white fin and a predominantly white body with dark blue small spots that resemble splatted water.
Froskip like its Hoenn counterpart sports large, fin-like cheeks that fan out from either side of its head, translucent and tinged with a light lavender-blue hue that are highly sensative.
Its expressive, deep black eyes give it a curious and gentle demeanor. The tail is its most striking feature—large, wide, and shaped like a butterfly fin, hinting at its aquatic agility.
Inspiration & Traits:
It resembles an axolotl or a baby newt adapted for cold climates. The dotted markings along its back suggest camouflage for snow-dappled riverbanks. Its body structure suggests a blend of aquatic dexterity and icy adaptation.
---
Froskip-Expanded Design & Lore:
Froskip evolved in frigid environments where traditional Mudkip could not survive. Its body adapted for insulation, and its amphibious traits now help it thrive beneath frozen surfaces. Though its ear-fins have grown large to hear vibrations under ice, Froskip is rather clumsy—it often bumps its head on floating chunks of ice but seems completely unbothered.
Personality:
Froskip is timid and bashful. It hides in snowbanks or behind icy rocks when startled. Trainers find its vacant stare and derpy charm irresistible. Despite its apparent cluelessness, Froskip is incredibly resilient and can navigate stormy frozen waters with ease.
---
Habitat
Natural Environment: Glacial rivers, snow-covered caves, icy wetlands.
Behavior: Active mostly during dawn or dusk. It enjoys playing alone, creating icy bubble rings underwater.
Diet: Eats small ice-dwelling aquatic algae, and einter berries. Occasionally catches snowflakes for fun.
---
Pokédex Entries by Region
Kanto
Froskip’s icy body is a result of adapting to extreme cold over generations. It prefers solitude but bonds deeply with trainers who show patience.
Johto
Even when it crashes into icebergs while swimming, Froskip carries on with a dopey grin. Its skull is surprisingly sturdy.
Hoenn (Special Variant Note)
Discovered far north of Hoenn, Froskip is thought to be a regional cousin to Mudkip. Unlike the Mudkip of warmer marshes, it cannot survive in tropical climates.
Sinnoh
The large fins on its head help it navigate the underground lakes beneath Mt. Coronet. It listens for predators moving across the ice.
Unova
It is said to be a descendant of Mudkip released acidently from another region into Unova’s Giant Chasm. Over time, this variant became well suited to the freezing environment aided by its cold-resistant skin.
Kalos
Though rare, Froskip can be found in the snowy peaks north of Kalos. Locals consider it a symbol of gentle persistence.
Alola
Alolan researchers discovered that Froskip freezes its tail before sleep, using it like a frozen anchor to avoid drifting in icy currents.
Galar
In the Crown Tundra, Froskip is known to follow Avalugg herds from below the ice, using their massive bodies for protection.
Paldea
Paldean scientists imported Froskip to study ice adaptations. Surprisingly, it formed a playful rivalry with the region’s Cetoddle population.
Orange Islands
Froskip was once a Mudkip that adapted to icy northern waters. Its large fin-like ears help it hear underwater echoes beneath the ice.
Orcaibh (Home Region) Entry 1
Froskip spends hours paddling in frigid rivers, its vacant eyes fixed on drifting snowflakes. Even when caught in strong currents, it simply flails its oversized tail until it washes ashore, none the worse for wear.
Orcaibh (Home Region) Entry 2
This Pokémon is known to adore slushy shallows where forming ice meets water. When it feels threatened, it buries itself in the snow with only its large head fin uncovered, waiting patiently for the storm or danger to pass.
---
Orcaibh Biology Textbook:
Froskip is a regional Ice/Water-type variant of Mudkip, notable for its adaptation to frigid environments. Its blue-and-white coloration, frost-tipped fins, and large icy fins are a stark contrast to the original orange of Mudkip. These traits evolved to help Froskip navigate cold, glacier-fed rivers and frozen lakes.
Froskip stores fat under its skin to protect from freezing, and its tail is broader and flatter for swimming through thick slush.

No. 155 – Cyndaquil (Orcaibh Form- Stormiquil)
The Storm Mouse Pokémon
Type: Electric / Water
Height: 0.5 m (18")
Weight: 8.9 kg (19.6 lbs)
---
Field Note Entry
Orcaibh Cyndaquil is a shy reclusive Pokémon that dwells along storm-battered shores and tidal flats. Instead of igniting flames on its back, it generates rolling dark thunderclouds charged with static electricity and heavy moisture. When calm, the clouds fade into a almost soft mist. When upset or excited, they darken and swirl violently, sparking bolts of lightning.
---
Biology
Orcaibh Cyndaquil evolved in coastal regions where constant dampness made combustion impractical. To adapt, it developed specialized follicles along its spine that emit an electrically charged vapor. The moisture clings to the dense fur and gathers into cloud banks, providing both camouflage against fog and a means of defense.
Its fur is short, smooth, and water-repellent. Though it has abandoned fire as an energy source, it retains high body warmth, allowing it to endure cold storms. Its overall body shape has remained the same in comparison to Johto Cyndaquil, preserving its familiar profile.
---
Appearance
Orcaibh Cyndaquil has the same rounded body and proportions as its Johto counterpart.
Back Fur: Deep blue with a subtle sheen, reminiscent of storm clouds over the sea, and dark deep waters.
Underbelly: Dirty cream color, darker and duller than the original pale yellow.
Snout: Same length and shape, with a small dark nose.
Eyes: Closed most of the time, maintaining its serene, timid look.
Back: Instead of flames, a bank of swirling dark clouds that drift and shift with its emotions, trailing tiny arcs of static. The back is patterned with scattered small blue spots that resemble raindrops against the stormy fur.
Feet: Compact and sturdy with small claws.
---
Inspiration & Traits
Reflects the unpredictable weather of the Orkney Isles and Scottish Highlands.
Inspired by dark stormy days in the Highlands of Scotland, and clouds rolling over the Benns
Its body shape is nearly identical to normal Cyndaquil to retain recognition and nostalgia.
---
Personality
While normally calm and reserved, Orcaibh Cyndaquil is noticeably more temperamental than its Johto counterpart. When anxious or throwing a tantrum, it unleashes bursts of rain and lightning indiscriminately, and is easily unsettled by loud sounds or sudden movement. Despite this volatility, it is affectionate and bonds quickly with patient Trainers.
---
Habitat Natural Environment
Rocky tidal pools, windswept sea cliffs, and salt marshes where storms frequently roll in from the ocean.
---
Behavior
Mostly active at Midday. It often sits in shallow pools, generating gentle rain over its back to soothe itself. Sleeps throughout most of the day snd evening.
---
Diet
Small coastal sea plants. It uses static discharges to stun would be threats that enter in the shallows.
---
Pokédex Entries by Region
Kanto
This Cyndaquil’s storm clouds are said to embody the restless power of the northern seas. Trainers often mistake its calm demeanor for gentleness, but it is quick to anger if startled, discharging arcs of lightning that dance across the wet ground. It thrives in rain and can be seen playing among the waves when storms roll in.
Johto
Unlike the Cyndaquil commonly chosen by new Trainers, this regional form replaces fire with dense storm clouds formed from static-laden moisture in its fur. Its volatile nature and sudden squalls make it ill-suited for beginners, as it startles easily and responds with bursts of rain and electricity.
Hoenn
When coastal storms approach, this Pokémon’s back clouds grow darker and thicker, clinging to its fur like heavy fog. Locals believe it senses oncoming weather before it hits, gathering static in anticipation. It seems happiest when the rain is falling steadily.
Sinnoh
Its swirling static fog is so charged that some Trainers use it to predict approaching storms. When content, it hums softly in the rain, but if frightened, the cloud on its back erupts in flashes of blue lightning.
Unova
When threatened, it whips up a drenching downpour strong enough to flood burrows and flush out intruders. Its temperament is notoriously fickle—calm one moment, unleashing thunderstorms the next.
Kalos
Orcaibh Cyndaquil has been seen along northern cliffs, basking in coastal rain squalls. Local folklore claims its presence can summon the rain to heal parched fields, though many caution that its sudden tempers can turn a gentle drizzle into a fierce tempest.
Alola
Migratory Cyndaquil that settled on rain-slick shores adapted by trading fire for electricity. Their fur gathers moisture from sea spray and forms billowing storm banks along their backs, which crackle with static whenever they grow excited.
Paldea
When kept in research facilities, Orcaibh Cyndaquil becomes restless if deprived of rain for too long. It often splashes in shallow ponds to create its own storms, a habit that has led to flooded courtyards and damp corridors. Trainers in Paldea admire its determination to stay close to water wherever it goes.
Orange Islands
These Pokémon are drawn to the humid monsoon rains of the archipelago. Locals say they dance along the beaches during downpours, their storm clouds trailing bright sparks over the sand.
Orcaibh (Home Region) Entry 1
This shy Pokémon spends hours sitting in the surf, letting rain wash over its fur as its storm cloud billows with a soft drizzle. It grows uneasy if the skies remain clear too long, as it finds calm only in steady rainfall.
Orcaibh (Home Region) Entry 2
Though it looks timid, Orcaibh Cyndaquil has a temper like a brewing squall. When startled or upset, it unleashes torrential rain and dazzling lightning, drenching everything nearby. Its stormy moods make it a challenging companion for all but the most patient Trainers.

After much hard work trudging though the frozen Fjords of Northern Orcaibh your faithful Frostomp has evolved! Now with a Frospert by your side even the harshest cold environments will be a breeze.
No. 260 – Frospert
The Tundra Titan Pokémon
Type Water / Ice
Height: 1.5 m (4'11")
Weight: 95.0 kg (209.4 lbs)
Evolves from Frostomp starting at Level 36.
Abilities:
Permafrost (Standard Ability):
When HP falls below 1/3, Frospert’s Ice-type moves deal 50% more damage.
Hidden Ability: Slush Rush
Doubles Speed during snow.
---
Field Note Entry:
Frospert is an apex predator and guardian of Orcaibh’s frozen coastlines. Trainers recount how its resonant bellows can be heard echoing across entire fjords, announcing its presence to friend and foe alike. Though formidable, Frospert displays remarkable empathy toward weaker creatures, often guiding them to shelter during blizzards.
---
Biology:
Frospert is an imposing amphibious Pokémon, bearing traits of colossal salamanders, whale sharks and orcas. Its dense, ice-blue hide is layered over thick blubber, protecting it from Arctic cold. The dorsal crest splits into jagged fins sharp enough to cut through glacier ice whilst swimming.
Beneath its skin, bio-crystals generate intense cold that helps regulate core temperature. Frospert’s massive limbs are powerfully muscled for both swimming and breaking through thick ice sheets. Its wide, paddle-like tail is ringed with serrated ridges that leave distinctive tracks.
While underwater, Frospert glides with surprising grace, using the dorsal crests as stabilizers. On land, its heavy footfalls send tremors that can fracture ice layers to access prey.
---
Appearance:
Frospert is larger and broader than Frostomp, with robust shoulders and a barrel-like torso. Its coloration deepens into a lustrous blend of navy and glacial teal, marked by swirling sperucal blue patterns along its sides and tail.
The head fin becomes a pair of tall, jagged crests crowned with translucent ice like membranes.
Its forelimbs thicken to support its weight on slippery terrain, and its claws grow dark and broad like ice axes.
A faint mist of cold vapor trails behind it as it moves.
---
Notable Features:
• Massive dual head crests resembling frozen axes.
• A shimmering frost aura that radiates from its body.
• Tracks marked by punctured, ice-fringed impressions.
• Frost crystals perpetually forming along its shoulders and tail.
---
Inspiration & Traits:
Frospert draws inspiration from:
• Giant salamanders (for bulk and amphibious adaptations).
• Orcas (for its aquatic predation and large upstanding dorsal crests).
• Whale sharks (for its coloration and head and tail shape as well as shark-like dorsal crest shape)
---
Personality:
Frospert is steadfast and highly territorial. It will confront any threat encroaching on its domain but remains gentle with smaller Pokémon or humans who show respect.
During snowstorms, it has been observed sheltering weaker Pokémon under its fins and guiding them to safety with low, rumbling calls. Despite its fearsome reputation, many coastal communities view Frospert as a benevolent protector.
---
Habitat:
Natural Environment:
• Glacial fjords and tundra rivers.
• Subzero caves deep beneath the permafrost.
• Frozen coastal wetlands.
Frospert ranges widely across Orcaibh’s frozen expanses, often returning to the same ancestral den sites year after year.
---
Behavior:
Frospert is primarily diurnal but patrols its territory at dusk and dawn. It announces its presence with bellowing calls that reverberate through ice layers.
When threatened, Frospert stamps the ground with tremendous force, releasing localized shockwaves of freezing energy. This behavior can cause blizzards or crack entire lake surfaces.
---
Diet:
Frospert primarily feeds on:
• Cold-water fish and crustaceans.
• Frozen kelp and subglacial algae.
• It also scavenges carrion preserved in ice.
During lean winters, Frospert can survive by lowering its body temperature into a torpor-like state.
---
Pokédex Entries by Region:
Kanto
Frospert’s thunderous roar can splinter entire glaciers, sending colossal shards drifting across the sea. Sailors whisper that it builds floating ice bridges overnight to help migrating Pokémon cross treacherous waters.
Johto
In the depths of winter, it wanders blizzard-swept valleys, carving winding channels that fill with meltwater as spring arrives. These pathways sustain entire ecosystems.
Hoenn (Variant Note)
Though kin to Swampert, Frospert’s evolution diverged in glacial isolation. Its ice-shrouded form is revered as a guardian of ancient frost.
Sinnoh
During the coldest storms on Mt. Coronet, it uses its massive tail to sculpt shelters of packed snow, where weaker Pokémon huddle until the blizzard passes.
Unova
Explorers in the Giant Chasm have recorded Frospert using its massive claws to carve stepped terraces into sheer ice walls, enabling entire colonies of Pokémon to ascend to safety during sudden freezes.
Kalos
This Pokémon is said to silently drift along mountain lakes at dawn, its breath freezing the water beneath into delicate bridges that shimmer like glass. Locals consider these passages omens of a prosperous winter.
Alola
Transported to Alola’s polar research facilities, Frospert astounded scientists by exhaling gusts so cold they could instantly solidify seawater into towering ice sculptures used to shade vulnerable species.
Galar
Legends of the Crown Tundra recount how Frospert creates broad, frost-bound trails through blizzards, guiding caravans of Pokémon to hidden hot springs buried beneath the snow.
Paldea
Paldean naturalists have observed it forming protective ice domes over spawning grounds, shielding schools of fish from predatory Bombirdier until the hatchlings can swim freely.
Orange Islands
Ancient songs speak of Frospert freezing entire lagoons into shimmering platforms, where Dewgong and Lapras gather in peace during seasonal migrations.
Orcaibh (Home Region) Entry 1
When it bellows, blizzards often follow. Orcaibh folklore teaches that Frospert’s footsteps shape the very flow of rivers. Many believe it can command the weather to protect its territory.
Orcaibh (Home Region) Entry 2
Though fiercely territorial, Frospert will linger behind migrating groups, mending broken ice paths so the smallest Pokémon can follow safely.
---
Orcaibh Biology Textbook:
Frospert represents the fully adapted apex evolution of the Froskip line. Its dense subdermal blubber, reinforced limb structure, and frost-generating dermal layers allow survival in extreme permafrost.
Its dual head crests have evolved into thermoregulation fins that stabilize its body during underwater hunts and store latent cold energy.
